Consultation on the Comprehensive Area Agreement
In April 2007 Government asked seven inspectorates to develop and introduce the Comprehensive Area Agreement. The aim is for a better co-ordinated and targeted inspection to support the 2006 Strong and Prosperous Communities White Paper. Proposals for the Comprehensive Area Agreement framework, to be introduced in April 2009, are now open for consultation until 5.00 pm on Monday 20 October 2008.  The Audit Commission website has more information http://www.audit-commission.gov.uk/caa/consultation.asp
Help with homeless survey needed
Derbyshire is undertaking its first major homelessness survey which will be recording details of everyone who presents as homeless to participating agencies in Derbyshire between Monday 29 September to Sunday 12 October.

The involvement of a wide range of organisations, even those who do not see homeless people, is essential to the success of this survey. The data that you provide us with will become an integral part in the planning of services for homeless people.

If you would like to do your bit, please contact Sarah at: sarah.holden@hlg.org.uk or call 0115 8599529.  Copies of the form and guidelines are also available to download from HLG's website at: www.hlg.org.uk

Compact logoA research study undertaken by IVAR on behalf of the Commission for the Compact has identified key factors behind successful Local Compacts and positive local partnership relationships.

These half-day seminars offer a great opportunity for individuals and organisations involved in Compact work at a local level to hear about the findings of this research. Delegates will learn how to increase the effectiveness of their Local Compacts and have the chance to further identify, share and learn best practice, as well as briefly discuss what needs to happen at a local level to implement these findings.

First Steps Young Person's Service
This service will provide information and support about eating disorders for young people aged 12 to 25.  It will launch on 6 October and is based at The Space on Osmaston Road, Derby.  We want to work as both an early intervention service and place of support for young people with ongoing conditions.  It is very important to offer multi-disciplinary support to young people suffering from all forms of eating disorders, so we will endeavour to work in liaison with as many services as we can.

For more information and a referral form, contact: Danielle Sinclair, Young Person's Coordinator on: 07525055673 or visit www.firststepsderby.co.uk
