Third Sector Enterprise Fund
As reported by Charity Finance (http://www.charityfinance.co.uk/home/content.php?id=1993), organisations at an earlier stage of development will be able to apply to the separate Third Sector Enterprise Fund, which will have £12 million over three years available in amounts of up to £100,000. Details are to follow in the next few months.
Bank Loans for Community Asset Transfer
Unity Trust Bank has announced a Community Asset Transfer loan account, for any charitable, voluntary or community group taking on a community asset transferred from public ownership under the government scheme. News item, or go direct to account details at http://www.unity.co.uk/CAT
Money Training For Those Working With Young People
A training programme, funded by the Financial Services Authority, has been developed specifically for those working with young people that are, or at risk of being, not in education, employment or training (NEET). Help develop pocket-sized standards
 The UK Workforce Hub is seeking volunteers to help in the development of pocket versions of the two recently revised National Occupational Standards, for fundraisers and managers of volunteers. There will be two or three meetings over a five month period, starting early August. Rising costs of volunteer travel
 The increase in fuel costs has seen Volunteering England's Information Service getting more enquiries about mileage rates. The organisation has had discussion with HM Revenue and Customs, who have indicated that that there are no plans to review the agreed tax-free rates at present, but point out an alternative method for calculating costs in reimbursement claims. Membership of Derby CVS is open to any voluntary or community group based in, or representing those living or working in, the city of Derby. All members must support our aims and objectives and each application for membership will considered by our Board.
We currently have 323 member organisations. We support our members by providing them with a range of services and by acting as the voice for the local voluntary and community sector.
To join Derby CVS all you need to do is complete an application form and questionnaire and send it back to us - we'll do the rest!
