Calendar Update:

We have some important changes to our school calendar, concerning the last week of school.

(May 30-June 2, 2011)

** Monday, May 30- NO School (Memorial Day)
**Tuesday, May 31- Is now a REGULAR School day (8:20-3:30), NOT a minimum day.  There will also be a Year-End Program practice and graduation practice for both grammar and secondary students during school hours.  All students, including those on the 3-day schedule, should be at school that day.

**Wednesday, June 1- This is the "NEW" LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! Not only is it a minimum day, but the Grammar Year-End Program, Grammar Phase Graduation (6th Graders) and Logic Phase Graduation (9th Graders)will be @ 6:30 in the COBC Worship Center.

**Thursday, June 2- Optional Magic Mountain Trip for any families interested.  This might be a great opportunity for Grammar students who earned their "Free Ticket" from the Read-A-Thon to go with their family and Secondary siblings.  This is no longer a school sponsored event, so families are encouraged to make plans individually with other families.

Report Cards:   If you haven't yet done so, please return your student's signed report card to the school office ASAP.  Also, report cards will now be sent via US Mail starting next quarter. Thank you.

Fundraising notices:   Please look for Fundraising notices being sent home sometime over the next week.

Year Book Requests:  Please have your student(s) return their "Favorite Verse" Sheet for the Year Book ASAP.  Also, because we have no seniors this year, we have more available yearbook pages that can be dedicated to other areas of school life.  So, the Year Book Class needs more school photos of student life, parties, field trips or anything you might have (especially from Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 6th grades).  Please drop off the pictures in electronic form (CD, Memory Stick, SD card, thumb drive, etc.) to the office ASAP.  Please make sure they are labeled, and Tomoko Reynolds will have them returned to you within 1-2 days.  Thank you.

Parent Meeting on Feb. 28: We are excited to have the WASC Accreditation Team joining us at our parent meeting.  Please make every attempt for both parents to be there.  They would love to see what supportive parents we have, and they may even have some questions for you!

Golf Marathon: Our goal is to have 40 event golfers!  As of today, we only have 18. Please come by the school office to sign-up and get more information. So Far our teams are as follows:

Church Library:  Check out the Church Library!  Library hours are Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:30-4:00 PM.  Mrs. Bradley, our wonderful librarian, places seasonal selections in the hallway for the enjoyment of the students.  Make sure to stop by and thank her for doing such a great job!

Jamison Children's Center Service Project: Monetary donations will be accepted in the Heritage Oak School Office from Monday, January 24 through Friday, February 11, 2011.  In lieu of having a Valentine's Party, the Secondary Students will be personally delivering the donations to the Center on Valentine's Day - Monday, February, 14, 2011.

The Last Spirit Apparel Ordering Date for the school year: Show your school spirit every Wednesday by wearing your  "Spirit Apparel"! The last ordering due date is March 15th.  Order forms are now downloadable on the HOS website, or can be picked up in the school office.  We have a few garments in stock for immediate purchase with a $3 discount: Long-sleeve T-shirt: AXL- $14, XXL (2)- $15.50 each AND Hoodie sweatshirt: AM (2)- $22 each.
