Dear Secondary Families
We have a very fun-filled 2011 in store for you!  Your student council has been working diligently to ensure that there are many exciting activities planned.  There have been a few changes to the original secondary calendar so be sure to double-check your calendars and make changes if needed. Changes and additions are in bold.
January-March

January: Service Project- Jamison Center Project/ Encouragement Week

17-21: Encouragement Week

17-18: Secondary Final Exams

21: Minimum Day/ First Semester Grades

24: Jamison Center Service Project Begins and will continue until Feb. 14th.   (See Flyers sent home/ Bulletin Insert)

26: Secondary Honor Roll Lunch

31: Protocol Class #1 (All Protocol Classes will be during Secondary Chapel)

February: Service Project- Jamison Center Project  

1-13: Jamison Center Service Project continues

6: Superbowl Party at the Crosby's House- 3 PM 

7: Protocol Class #2

9: Secondary Hot Lunch FUNDRAISER- Spaghetti

14: Deliver donations to Jamison Center: 2:45-7:00 PM (will need Chaperone/Drivers)

18: Murder Mystery Dinner at HOS: 5:30-9:00 PM (Teachers/Parents encouraged to attend.)

21: President's Day- No School

28: WASC Accreditation Team at HOS

March: Service Project- Serve at the Family Life Pregnancy Center Banquet (FLPC)

1-2: WASC Accreditation Team here at HOS

7: Protocol Class #3

9: Secondary Hot Lunch FUNDRAISER- Potatoes

14: Protocol Class #4

15: Spirit Day Apparel Orders Due

17: FLPC Banquet at COBC

20: Formal for 9th-12th Graders:  Dinner at Ivan Kane's (Cafe Was) in Hollywood and The Beauty and the Beast Musical at the Pantages Theater.

21: 2-Hour Delay for Attendees of the Formal (9th-12th graders)

25: Minimum Day/ 3rd quarter Progress Reports

18-25: Easter Break

28: Golf Tournament/ No School

 

 

May: Service Project- Weed-Whacking for COBC (TBA)

 2: Student Council Election Letters/Permission Slips sent home to parents  

2-6: Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week

9: Student Council Offices Information Meeting (Parents of interested students should attend.)

11: Student Council Permission Slips Due for those intending to run for an office/ Nominations: 12:15- 1:00 PM.

11: Secondary Hot Lunch FUNDRAISER- Spaghetti

12-18: Campaign Poster may be displayed

16: Campaign Speeches: 8:25- 9:00 AM

18: Student Council Elections at lunch/ Winners announced at 3:25.

20: "Mis-Matched Mixed-Up" Secondary Party at the Wilson's

26: Secondary Field Trip to the Museum of Tolerance

27: Minimum Day (COBC's Helping Hands Holiday)

30: Memorial Day/ No School 

31: Minimum Day

 

 June: Service Project- Help with the Elementary Picnic

1: Minimum Day/ Secondary "Clean-Up" Day and Bar-B-Q

1: Year-End Program/ Grammar Phase (6th) and Logice Phase (9th) Graduation Ceremonies.

2: TBD- Amusement Park Trip for Secondary Students
