A Spiritual Holiday Shopping Guide

Congratulations to one of our members for just getting engaged after applying the advice found on our How to Find a Soul Mate Page. You can also read about Lisa's experiences on our blog, she has 2 posts. Just for the record, I do except invitations to weddings, and this is one I'm looking forward to very much.

If you're like me, I'm sure you've just about finished all of your holiday shopping and are looking forward to giving your gifts. I tend to be an opportunistic shopper, in that when I see a gift that is just perfect for someone else, I buy it and hide it until Christmas. I have been known to buy Christmas presents as soon as a few days after Christmas.

Then a few days go by, and I can't resist giving my gift. An item bought with the love, thoughtfulness, and energy of a Christmas present is reduced to becoming just a present. No celebratory event is associated with it, and it has no fancy wrapping.

What is the difference between a Christmas present and a present? The answer has a lot to with the concept of energy exchange, a newsletter for another time, but I did want to "plant a seed," so to speak, as you go about your holiday shopping.

Spiritual Counseling and Advice

As most of you know, free spiritual counseling is available anytime. Around this time of year it tends to get busy, which is great. Generally speaking, counseling sessions don't go past more than 3-4 email exchanges. It has become more of a "point me in the right direction," or "what is your opinion" service. This is just a reminder that this service is available should you wish to use it. Of course, it may be something you never use at all. The Universe may put you in a situation where you have the opportunity to point another soul in the direction of charitable energy.

Communicating with Your Soul

One of the things I talk a lot about on the website is communicating with your soul. It's the reason why I do thousands of free spiritual astrology readings, but I wonder if everyone truly understands the purpose of this communication and why it's so important.

The primary reason is that your soul knows the truth. It always does, it always will, and it always did. Let's try a few questions in which I'd like you answer with your strongest intuition, or gut feeling:

Do you think the price of gas get as high as $6 before it returns to $2 per gallon?

Do you think the world's temperatures will continue to get hotter every year, or will they return to normal?

Do you think there will be more floods, earthquakes, and natural disasters, or will the world return to more stable weather conditions?

How did you do? I feel pretty confident that if we polled everyone reading this the votes for "more" would exceed the votes for "less." Okay, now let's try some in a different direction.

Will you overcome the number one challenge that exists right now in your most important relationship? Or do you see a step backwards more likely?

Will you experience the highest level of satisfaction in your closest relationship? Or will your greatest satisfaction be more of a thing of the past?

Will you finally be able to say you have conquered your greatest self improvement of today? Or it is it likely to be on your New Year's Eve Resolution for years to come?

These personal questions might be more difficult for you answer as confidently as you did when you answered the questions about global warming. And why would that be? Communicating with your soul requires a level of honesty people can shy away from.

But we do know the future is created by efforts and energies we invest in our relationships today. Given that, can we say we are more confident about the future of global warming because we already know we are doing nothing about it?

Why are questions about our own futures more difficult to answer than Global Warming? You soul knows the truth if you care to really get to know it and ask. Knowing the truth may help motivate you into investing a level of effort into attaining the answer you desire.

Holiday Gift Giving Guide

Okay, here the part of the newsletter where I have tie all of the points together and have it all make sense. Last question: Ask your soul which type of holiday shopper best describes you:

I ask people what they want and go buy it for them.

I ignore what people ask for and spend a significant amount of time and energy trying to not give someone just a Christmas present, but a keepsake that has intense sentimental value, which will be treasured forever by the love I love.

Three spiritual laws come to mind: You can only evolve through your relationships, you create your own future by the energy you invest, and giving is getting.

One can't invest that much time and energy in something as small as Christmas gift without communicating with your soul, understanding your own feelings, and harnessing that energy into your relationships. This is also the beginning of understanding energy exchange.

And that's why I choose do my Christmas shopping all year long. The season of Christmas has a different powerful energy, in that it brings out the gift of giving in people who typically don't have that spirit throughout the year. I think that is the reason the Christmas season is such a joyous one, because it brings out a positive energy in many.
