Hi ,
Happy Spring from Helping Hands! People reach out to us all the time to find out how they can help. I figured that this month's e-newsletter would be a great vehicle for talking about the various ways to support our program. Check out the Volunteer Spotlight to learn more about a creative fundraising idea! And don't worry- I won't forget to introduce you to our monkeys. Learn about Peter and Rudy by checking out the Monkey Helper News section. Helping Hands is very fortunate to have such an active, generous group of donors who support our mission- THANK YOU!

Host a Fundraiser Using a company called FirstGiving many people have successfully hosted online fundraisers for us. You can still manage a Giving Circle, but there are lots of other ways to use this program as well. It can be an avenue for all of your friends and family to show their support for you, whether it be sponsoring you to run or bike a race, host an event of your own, or celebrate a birthday or special occasion.
Check out the Boston 3rd Grader's fundraising page. Get inspired and either donate to their page or start your own!

Meet Our Monkeys: Peter & Rudy
Peter and Rudy are one of of Helping Hands' cutest pairs. The monkey "best friends" come out together everyday with their trainer Jennifer. When not training, they spend time playing with and grooming one another. Peter is the more laid back of the two who cuddles, while Rudy likes to explore and get the other trainers' attention while she's out. Both monkeys are currently in training. Rudy has just finished learning to go back to the cage when she has to potty in the B-room which is the mid level of training. Peter is more advanced and spends his time fine tuning tasks he already knows in the final level, the Apartment. We know they'll both be great monkey helpers to future recipients. Girl Scout Troop 72660 chose us as their cause for their fundraising efforts. They hosted a very successful
dog wash to raise funds for the monkeys, and even created a video documenting
it all! Once all of their money was collected, they purchased supplies from our
wish list and came to Helping Hands to present them. They had a creative idea,
executed it, and it sure paid off! A big thank you to the troop and their
leaders for all of their hard work! |
