EMPLOYEE FREE CHOICE ACT
INTRODUCED IN CONGRESS TODAY

Earlier today, the Employee Free Choice Act was introduced in Congress by  Representative George Miller (D-CA) and Senator Tom Harkin (D-MA).  President Obama has previously indicated his strong support for this legislation.

If passed, the EFCA will amend the National Labor Relations Act to allow unions to use the "card check" process - and bypass the secure, private election format - each time they attempt to organize workers.  Supporters and critics of the Act agree, the EFCA will result in a dramatic increase in Union organizing activity!

The Employment and Labor Team at Liebmann, Conway, Olejniczak & Jerry has been monitoring the progress of the EFCA, and has been extensively involved in training employers across Northeastern Wisconsin in ways to prepare and minimize the impact of this harmful legislation.  If you have questions regarding steps that your company might take to remain "union-free" under EFCA, please contact one of the members of our team (Greg Grobe, Jodi Arndt, Ross Townsend or Dawn Korver) at (920) 437-0476 or www.lcojlaw.com.
