September 2012

A Word from Lauren

Hey GRITS readers! After an amazing summer of fun, I am back working on GRITS and my studies here at MTSU. The month of September is going to be an awesome one that entails our yearly EYH conference that has a record breaking 450 registrants this year! Also, Southern Automotive Women's Forum is hosting an event, the first African American female fighter pilot is visiting MTSU, and a scholarship will be available this month. Read below for more details.

Building a Dream

Southern Automotive Women's Forum is holding an event called Building a Dream that will take place on September 26 from 6 pm to 8:45pm at Tottser-Iroquois Facility in LaVergne. Linda Macht, President of Tottser-Iroquois, will talk about growing an automotive industry manufacturing business. Linda began working in her father's Tool and Die Company in a temporary position in the accounting department in 1988.  Linda took on more and more of the day to day operations and became the Operations Manager in 1992. Under her leadership, Tottser Tool and Die Company transformed into a metal stamping and assembly plant dealing mostly in the Automotive Industry.  She became President in 1994 and continues to hold that position. Linda Reichart Macht is the President and CEO of Tottser Tool & Manufacturing located in Pennsylvania, and President of Tottser-Iroquois Industries located in La Vergne, Tennessee. Tottser-Iroquois is a joint venture with locations in PA, TN and MI.  They are opening their new Southern facility to meet the needs of their existing customers as well as to broaden our reach to the automotive sector in this region. Event includes a plant tour. Light refreshments will be served. Follow this link to register.  Registration fee is $25 for members and $30 for non-members.
