You've seen the signs. Received the phone calls. Thumbed through the mailings. Once again, it's election season.
Arizona's Primary Election and General Election are quickly approaching. Voters will go to the polls to help determine key issues and elect new officials that will have a direct impact on every one of us, especially those who continue to face severe challenges during the economic recovery.
In this election season, Tempe Community Council is joining the Alliance for Arizona Nonprofits and other civic engagement groups to make sure that Tempeans have their voice heard at the ballot box. The best way to be heard is to vote! We have put together some key resources to make sure you are able to vote this election season.
Primary Election Date: August 28, 2012
Deadline to Register to Vote in Primary: July 30, 2012 at midnight
General Election Date: November 6, 2012
Deadline to Register to Vote in General: October 9, 2012 at midnight
Remember: if you have moved, changed your name or if you have not voted since the last Arizona Primary Election - you need to re-register to vote.
Luckily, the State of Arizona and Maricopa County have many easy ways for you to register to vote. To better undertand voter registration in Arizona, visit: www.azsos.gov/election/VoterRegistration.htm. From there you can access links to how to register to vote online at http://servicearizona.com (which is also an easy resource to renew your driver's license) or in person at the Maricopa County Recorder's Office. The Maricopa County Recorder's Office's website (http://recorder.maricopa.gov/web/elections.aspx) is another great resource for voters. This is a great place to find your polling location on election day. Remember: there are new state and federal district boundaries in Arizona as a result of the U.S. Census! It is most likely that your district has changed and your polling location has also changed. So make sure to look ahead so you know where to vote on election day!
Arizona ranked 43rd for voter turnout in the 2008 Presidential Election and 40th in the nation for voter registration. We believe that voting is a responsibility, a privilege and it serves as a role model for civic engagement for our children. So, register and vote! |

Child Abuse Prevention License Plate Funds
