Featured Opportunity: Veterans Boot Camp 
 
The Maricopa Skill Center has joined forces with Chandler University to run operation Veterans' Boot Camp. 
 
Dates: July 9 - 13, 2012 
 
Their goal is to help Veterans get jobs. They do that by partnering with the private sector to teach our Veterans the skills they need to get great jobs.

Featured Resource: Summer Food Service Program  

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Child Nutrition Program established to ensure that low-income children, ages 18 and younger, continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session.  


There are hundreds of locations across Arizona where a nutritious meal can be found when school is not in session.

Freeze! The Science behind Crafting Ice Cream

 

Freeze is intended to be a hands-on introductory program for children 3-5 years of age. The program will cover how to measure liquid and solid materials, exploration of the properties of solids and liquids along with vocabulary building, and the understanding that cold has an effect upon liquids. 

 

When: Wednesday, June 27, 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. 

 

Where: Kyrene Family Resource Center (KFRC)  

 

Registration highly recommended. Limit 15.
