Communities in Schools Honored
On Saturday, April 30 Communities in Schools of Tempe & Kyrene (CIS) was awarded the Ralph & Carla Lingerfelt Commitment to the Community Award during the Ninth Annual Spracale Education Awards Ceremony.
This award is given to organizations who make a major contribution to the community and the children in our schools. CIS was selected for the 18 years of dedicated service to our local public schools and for encouraging students and providing services so young people stay in school and prepare for life. Programs in early literacy, counseling, parent outreach and education, pre-school readiness, health and wellness and the several Family Resource Centers were recognized for all they do to support students and families.
We are immensely proud to have been selected for this award and it would not be possible without the outstanding guidance and vision of CIS Program Director, Lynette Stonefeld.
Thank you to the Tempe Impact Education (TIE) Foundation Board for this incredible honor!
