Agency Review Newsletter    October 2010
Greetings!

I am happy to announce that recruitment is going well!  To date, we have 62 Agency Review (AR) Volunteers, even above our record numbers last year!  Thank you for your support for those most in need ~ your community.
RSVP for Training and an Interview Block
There are two AR Volunteer Trainings on Monday, November 8th, located at the Tempe Schools Credit Union (upstairs).

8:00 a.m. for NEW volunteers
5:00 p.m. for RETURNING volunteers

At these trainings you will also be asked to sign-up for a 1/2 day block of agency interviews in mid-January, 2011.  Please have your calendars with you.
Human Service Presentations
Tempe Community Council has identified six human service categories for the nonprofit programs funded by the City of Tempe.  The categories are listed as:

- Homeless Shelter & Services
- Domestic Violence Shelter & Services
- Programs for the Working Poor
- Programs for Those with Disabilities
- Youth Prevention & Programs
- Senior Programs

New this year, I am presenting educational awareness PowerPoints on these six human service categories.  I will be posting the PowerPoints in this Newsletter each month in order to share with you the issues surrounding human services.  The objective is to enhance your overall experience with human services in Tempe and to measure the impact of the educational pieces (below).  Click here to view the presentations.

How will I measure the impact of the educational pieces mentioned above?  I ask you to please take this quick survey.  By the time of the Final Meeting in February, 2011, you will not only have read several proposals, but you will have conducted agency interviews and reviewed the presentations on TCC's six human service categories.

At the end of the AR process, I will ask you to take this same survey, and compare results.  Please help me to track our progress and thank you for your time!

Community Survey - Update Thank you for your participation!  Last year was the inaugural year of the City of Tempe Human Services Survey - this year we had an increase in participation of over 206%!  I will post results shortly so stay tuned.
