Supplies-4-Students
For nine consecutive years, Communities in Schools of Tempe & Kyrene has worked with local businesses and organizations to collect backpacks and school supplies for students whose families can't afford school essentials. Last year, more that 500 Tempe students received assistance. This year, Tempe is stepping up to the plate again. With more parents out of work, the need is greater than ever. Thank you to our partners including: Kiwanis Recreation Center, Tempe Schools Credit Union, Church of the Epiphany, Kiwanis Club of Tempe, City of Tempe unions and departments and many others who are helping send our students off to school ready to learn.
We are still collecting! Please consider a contribution of school supplies, backpacks or cash to a child in need. Contact Lynette Stonefeld @ 480.858.2316 or drop-off in the TCC offices 34 E. 7th Street - Mon-Fri 8:30 AM -4:30 PM.

| New Teen Resource Center
Local teens now have a place specifically for them where they can obtain some basic items they need to attend school. Thanks to Sean McDonald, Compadre High School principal, and Communities in Schools of Tempe & Kyrene, a new Teen Resource Center (TRC) will be opening inside the Evans/Compadre Academy at 4525 S. College Ave in Tempe. Staffed by volunteers, and supplied by donations, the TRC will have clothing, shoes, hygiene items and other items students need in order to come to school prepared to learn. The TRC is scheduled to open in mid-August. Donations of useable clothing, shoes, alarm clocks, and toiletries are in great need. Please contact Lynette Stonefeld @ 480.858.2316 if you can donate any of these items. |
Thank you to our funders and partners for their extraordinary support. | |
