6 Babies

Since Angels was founded in 1999, we have rescued 420 babies from abuse and neglect.

So far this year we have rescued
59 babies.

Hello Angels friends.

On behalf of the Angels board and staff, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended this year's fundraising luncheon held on Oct. 20 at the Torrey Pines Hilton.  With a sell-out crowd of over 420 guests, we were so proud to present a program again highlighting each of our precious Angels children in their very own fashion show.

The Power of One was the theme for the day and speaker Nathan Fletcher spoke so eloquently to the power each of us has to help change the life of one child.  A special thank you to our luncheon chairs, Missy Kelly and Julie Schrady for their hard work and commitment to insuring this year's event was our best ever!  Thank you to all our amazing volunteers and to the Angels families for loving and caring for each of our toddler Angels.  A special thank you to Jack for his lovely piano solo, and to McKenzie Holmes for her beautiful voice and talent as she sang for us all!

All of you helped us raised well over $100,000 and we thank you all for your generous support and commitment to help us help the beautiful infants and toddlers who fall victim to the foster care system.

Warmest regards,

Cathy Richman

Here is the November Dr. Mama question:

Dear Dr. Mama,

I've been following the whooping cough epidemic in California for some months now, and after the most recent death I'm even more worried.

We are caring for our beautiful little Angel guy who is 3 months old with a history of drug exposure (marijuana and amphetamines). There have been a few hiccups since he came to us, but overall he's a pretty healthy guy. He's had his first set of immunizations, but I know that's not enough to protect him completely.

What else can I do?

Nervous in North County

Foster Parent Spotlight- Michael and Karen

foster familyMy husband and I came to fostering because our children have all become adults. Being a stay-at-home mom for the past 24 years, I have a lot more love and care to give a child, especially a child that needs love, comfort and safe environment.

Although we are not considering adoption, we became very attached to our first placement. She came to us at 2 ½ years old. My husband and I were "Mom"and "Dad" within the first 10 minutes of meeting her. Click here to read more.

US Bank Sponsors Angels Holiday Party

Christmas party 2009Angels will hold its Annual Holiday Party for all Angels children and their families, staff and board members on Dec. 4 at the beautiful Loma Santa Fe Country Club.  With special thanks to board member, Amy Simpson, the lovely dining room at the country club is being made available again this year for our party.  With a grant from US Bank, Angels will host our holiday party with festive food and beverages for all the families and children.  As with former years, a special appearance will be made by Santa Claus, who brings toys and goodies for all the children that are graciously donated by
St Gabriel Catholic Church!  Thank you US Bank for sponsoring this holiday party!  It promises to be a very special day of holiday joy and fun shared amongst all the Angels families, staff and board members.

Did you Know?

Did you know we had 19 of our Angels participate in this year's fashion show? This group of kids has an amazing future in store for them! We have future comedians, mommies, athletes, and musicians (according to themselves and their parents). Our Angels are a group unlike any other, more of our parents commented on the unlimited love their Angels have for other kids and their siblings than anything else that stood out about their personalities. These children who all had rough starts are already turning into the kind of people who will be the adults that lead the future.

Thumbs Up Baby

Angels is very grateful for the donations we receive every month. Without the generosity of our friends we wouldn't be able to save innocent babies in need. We would like to thank our October donors! Click here to see all our generous donors from October!
