6 Babies

Since Angels was founded in 1999, we have rescued 382 babies from abuse and neglect.

So far this year we have rescued
23 babies.

Hello Angels friends and families:

We all agree at Angels that it "takes a village" to raise a foster child!  Some critical members of that "village" include the Angels staff, our board members and volunteers.  We would like to highlight a special member of the Angels "team" as a small way to recognize these amazing individuals and to share with you the unique talent and commitment each and every one of them bring to our organization.  Without our committed staff, board members and volunteers, Angels would not exist!

This month, we would like to highlight a new board member, Stacy Brown.  Stacy attended an Angels foster parent Orientation in January, where she wanted to learn more aboutStacy Brown becoming an Angels parent.  She has spent her entire professional career at large for-profit organizations where she has continually taken on increasingly senior marketing roles and has become a proven business leader.  Stacy quickly saw an opportunity for her to share her marketing skills and expertise with Angels, and before even joining the board, she created a marketing committee, where she met with board members and began a marketing plan.

Stacy, a mother of a toddler daughter, feels very passionate about the innocent children we serve!  We appreciate the much needed marketing and business development background that Stacy brings to Angels and applaud her as she has hit the ground running!

Gratefully,
Cathy Richman
Founder/Executive Director

Dear Dr. Mama,

We're fostering an adorable little Angel who's been with us for about a year. She'll be 2 next month, and recently she's started biting! The first time was after a visit with her bio Mom, so we thought it was due to the stress of the visit. But since then she's kept it up and it happens at least a couple times a week.

The most frequent "victim" is our 4-year-old daughter, who's starting to get really mad about it.Why is she doing this, and how should we be reacting? Her behavior is otherwise stellar, but this has got to stop!

"A friend of mine is a part of the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) program and suggested Angels to us. I went to the orientation and knew right away that this is what we were supposed to be doing. We had the time and no kids of our own so we had no excuse not to! The presentation was amazing and I don't know how anyone could walk out of there and not want to help.
The most rewarding thing about being a foster parent is...  read more.
