6 Babies

Since Angels was founded in 1999, we have rescued 344 babies from abuse and neglect.

We have rescued 58 babies so far this year!

This weekend,  Angels will celebrate it's 10th Holiday party for all Angels children, past and present, and their families.  Our guest list grows every year and Santa now starts packing his sleigh a week in advance to provide beautiful toys to every child in the room!  As we prepare for this incredible afternoon of fun, I am reminded of our first holiday party together, with the Cooper family, and 4 month old Jeremy.  We held our party in our living room and talked about the tradition we had just started, and for the past 10 years we have celebrated the joy of the holidays through the eyes of all our children as they light up the room with their laughter.

As we all celebrate the holidays with the message of gift giving ever present, I am reminded of the opportunities we all have to give the gift of love, healing and renewed hope to every child we place.

I thank every individual who has ever given a gift to Angels - we are indeed a community who cares for our children.  On behalf of all our babies, the Angels board, our staff and myself, we wish you all the very happiest of holidays!

Dear Dr. Mama,

Our little Angel is 28 months old and came to live with us about 3 weeks ago. He's adjusting to our family really well and just craves attention and love, and we're giving him all we've got. We have no other children, and my husband and I do all we can to eat healthy, fresh foods without a lot of preservatives or sugar added. The problem is, our new little guy seems to have developed some bad habits along the way and asks for foods that we don't even keep in the house! He turns up his nose at whole wheat bread and isn't too happy with vegetables. When we're at the store he asks for the worst sugary cereals and junk food. I try to explain that it's not good for him, but of course he doesn't understand. He's scheduled for a visit with his biological family next week, and I'm worried that they'll feed him all kinds of junk! How can I get nutritious food into this guy?

Foster Parent Spotlight - Jamie and Kim

Babies RescuedHaving worked with kids for most of their careers, Jamie and Kim Thomas saw first hand the needs that exist for children entering foster care. Jamie and Kim would see foster kids, after years of coming in and out of treatment centers and being moved around in the foster care system, often left with issues that were difficult to overcome. Jamie and Kim decided that the best way to combat this would be working with children in the beginning of their foster care experience providing them with a stable and loving home to thrive in. Read More...
