Babies Rescued
6 Babies

Since Angels was founded in 1999, we have rescued 329 babies from abuse and neglect. We unfortunately turned away 12 babies in September because our homes were full! We are accepting applications now for new families. The need for more Angels families has never been more critical!

Our goal for 2009 is to place 65 babies in loving homes. So far this year we have rescued 43 babies.

The Angels 6th Annual luncheon is on October 15th and tickets are still available! This is a special year for us because we are celebrating our 10th Anniversary!

Don't miss the fashion show with our very own Angels children. We will be honoring the Angels founder, Cathy Richman, for her 10 years of dedication and service. And last but not least, the new Angels video will be revealed for the very first time!

We will have an opportunity drawing and a live auction with many fantastic items. There will be beautiful jewelry from Diamond Boutique, a brand new Vespa signed by Jay Leno, a week long stay at a Telluride estate, Sam The Cooking Guy show taping for 4, dinner with the firefighters from Station #21 in Pacific Beach, and much much more!

Want to buy or purchase a one-of-a-kind purse? We will be selling beautiful M.Andonia bags. To view the purses go to http://www.mandonia.com. All proceeds will support our Infants in Crisis program.

Looking forward to seeing you on October 15th at the Hyatt UTC La Jolla!

Dear Dr. Mama,

We picked up our adorable Angels baby about a week ago, well 8 days to be exact. He's 11 months old, and just the cutest, sweetest thing you ever saw. Unfortunately, he's suffered some injuries and broken bones because of an abusive home, which is how he came to us.

I don't understand how anyone could deliberately hurt a child, and my heart aches for this little one. The social workers say his injuries are healed, but my question is, how do we care for him? Do we need to treat him differently? Hold him differently? Should we be feeding him a special diet to make him stronger? He's beginning to stand and cruise along holding on to things - should I let him try to walk? I'm not sure what's safe and I find myself being extra cautious. My husband says I'm too nervous and we should treat him like we would any baby. Who's right?

Foster Parent Spotlight - Darcy and Madison
 Darcy and Madison
Tiny hands and feet, sweet smiles, coos, cries and midnight feedings - all the joys of parenthood however temporary it may be. My journey as a foster parent began over two years ago when I heard about a coworker mentoring a foster child. I was instantly intrigued and less than a year later I was drawn to Angels. Angels was a perfect fit for me. The last year and a half has been an exciting and interesting one... click here to continue reading
