Angels relies on donations to help abused and neglected babies. Help a child and make a donation today.

Dear Friends:Sleeping Newborn

When Ashley was born in May of 2001, she was programmed perfectly, with a natural tendency to love.  Her imagination was creative and flourishing, and she entered the world full of enchantment and a sense of the miraculous!    She was one of the lucky children who entered foster care 8 years ago and found her way into the arms of her Angels family.  Today Ashley is a happy, talented and very loving little girl, a leader in her 3rd grade class, and a healthy and proud member of her family, living in the Poway community.

Ashley represents just one of the over 300 children placed with Angels families over the past ten years.  She was given a home with unconditional approval, parents who found her precious because of who she was, not for what she could do or who she would become.

When innocent babies fall victim to the foster care system, many find their way to Angels families, but many more must endure a long and often never ending journey through an overcrowded foster care system, where their natural born tendency to love quickly turns to one of fear.

We turn away babies every week who desperately deserve an Angels home to call their own.  Won't you consider how you might help a baby in need.  We invite you to visit the Angels website, www.angelsfoster.com to find a way you too can make a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable of all foster children - the babies.

Warmly,

Cathy P. Richman

Dr. Mommy Photo
Dr. Mommy is better known as Rachel Zahn, MD, a pediatrician and local mom of three kids, ages 20, 18, and 14. All three were born during her medical training, earning her the title. Rachel is also one of our newest Angels Board members. She attended our annual luncheon last year and says "I was so impressed with the organization, and so moved by the kids and their stories that I had to offer to help. The more I learn about Angels, the more passionate I become about our goals."  Angels wants to give you the opportunity to send in your questions and have them answered by Dr. Mommy.

Dear Dr. Mommy,

We are new Angels parents and have just welcomed an adorable 20-month-old little girl into our home. We all seem to be adjusting beautifully with no major bumps in the road - knock wood. We live in East County and the weather is starting to get pretty warm out here. I know there must be things we need to do for our little one, like sunblock and the like, but I need some reliable information. What hazards of summer should we be worried about?

Father's Day Pic
A Father is someone who listens with his heart, speaks with hugs and teaches by example.

Father's Day is June 21st! Make it a special day by honoring your father or a man who you think is a special father. By making a gift in his honor, your meaningful donation will literally give a baby a chance at a stable, loving and nurturing home.

When you make a donation to Angels your honored father will receive a special Father's Day card letting him know he has been acknowledged by you. Honored fathers will also be listed on our website at www.angelsfoster.com (click on the "Father's Day" to see the list).

Two Families, Two Paths, Two Lives Changed Forever

In early 2008, two Angels foster families received two separate babies. Gordon and Kirsten received a little boy only 4 months old, removed from his mother at birth for being positive for drugs. He was bounced around from foster home to foster home until landing safely in the arms of Gordon and Kirsten. Our other Angels family, Amanda and Brandon, received little Mya when she was only 2 months old. She was removed from her mother at birth for mom's prior history of drug use and having siblings who were already in the foster care system. Continue...
