Each week we pray for a ministry or ministers in the PTCA.    Click on the button below to find who we are praying for this week.

           

 

  • We pray Godspeed for Ruling Elder Nancy Grittman as she concludes her ministry as PTCA Stated Clerk on June 7.    
  • We pray for Teaching Elder Bill Davnie as he begins his ministry as the new PTCA Stated Clerk.
  • We pray for all those involved in the upcoming special Presbytery meeting taking place June 12 at Oak Grove Presbyterian in Bloomington.  
  • We continue to pray for those who are experiencing illness at this time including Dan Johnson (Teaching Elder, Honorably Retired), Joy Smith (Teaching Elder, Church of the Apostles), Ward Sessing (Ruling Elder, Church of the Way),Larry Patee (Ruling Elder, Buffalo), Mary McNamara (Teaching Elder, Honorably Retired and Tim Held (Teaching Elder, Honorably Retired).

Summer Office Hours at Presbytery

  

  • Starting June 1, the Presbytery office will be open on Fridays from 8:30am-12:30pm for the duration of the summer.         

  

 


 
Presbyterian Pastor Seeks to Welcome College Students to Iowa State

 

 

 

Do you know of a high school graduate heading to Iowa State University this fall?  Jesse Larson, the Campus Pastor at Collegiate Presbyterian Church in Ames, IA is asking for the names of Young Adults in your church that will be heading to Iowa State later this year.  Jesse writes, "I hope that through a phone call, email or letter, it might make it easier for new students to feel comfortable in becoming involved in CPC as their church home while they are away from home."

  Ubuntu is the occasional email that focuses on a mission taking place in the Presbytery.

For the last month or so, we have been sending it out to everyone on the EMerge mailing list as way of introducing this new resource.  Beginning with our next issue, the email will be sent automatically to churches, pastors and clerks of session.  If you would like to get on the Ubuntu mailing list, fill out our signup form .

Call to Special Presbytery Meeting

 

 

    presbytery meeting The next  Meeting of the Presbytery of the Twin Cities Area will be a special meeting  on June 12, 2012 at Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Bloomington, MN starting at 6:30PM.  The main purpose of the meeting is the resumption of the process to discuss, amend and vote on the proposed Gracious Separation Policy.

Church of All Nations Featured on MPR: Church of All Nations Presbyterian in Columbia Heights was lifted up as an example of a multicultural church on the June 6th afternoon broadcast of Minnesota Public Radio.  The report by MPR reporter Nikki Tundel, is part of  series in the changing demographics of Minnesota.  To hear or read the report, click here.

 

Just call her Dr. Davis-Campbell: The congregation of First Presbyterian in Hastings congratulates their pastor Teaching Elder April Davis-Campbell who recently received the Doctorate of Ministry in Christian Spirituality from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA.  The title of her research was "Meeting People Where They Are:  How Internet-Based Technology And Spirituality Intersect".   

 

 

Associated Pastor Named Police Chaplain: Keith Hiller, the new Chief of Police in Owatonna, MN wanted to start a police chaplain program.  Teaching Elder Ron Wilson, pastor of Associated Church in Owatonna, was one of many who responded to the call.  Wilson will volunteer at least four hours a week.  

 

Aldrich Avenue Celebrates 100 Years: Aldrich Avenue Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis will be celebrating its century in ministry with several events this weekend.  The festivities include a Reunion and Luncheon on June 9 and a special worship service on June 10.

 

 

   

Presbytery Seeker Seminar Set for June:

The Committee on Preparation for Ministry (CPM) will host a one day "seeker" seminar for individuals exploring a sense of call to Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA) on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at

 Valley Community Presbyterian Church in Golden Valley, MN.

 

This seminar provides a structured way of meeting with and orienting seekers to the opportunities, challenges and responsibilities that lie ahead should they pursue a formal relationship with the CPM...
