Prayer Requests

- We pray for Risely Prakasim, who will be Ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament on June 3.
- We pray for Risely, Teaching Elder Joo Kim and the congregation of Knox Presbyterian in St. Paul as the enter into minister together. Prakasim and Jim will be co-pastors at Knox.
- We continue to pray for those who are experiencing illness at this time including Dan Johnson (Teaching Elder, Honorably Retired), Joy Smith (Teaching Elder, Church of the Apostles), Ward Sessing (Ruling Elder, Church of the Way),Larry Patee (Ruling Elder, Buffalo), Mary McNamara (Teaching Elder, Honorably Retired and Tim Held (Teaching Elder, Honorably Retired).

Summer Office Hours at Presbytery
- Starting June 1, the Presbytery office will be open on Fridays from 8:30am-12:30pm for the duration of the summer.

Ordination/Installation June 3 at Knox-St. Paul
The Presbytery of the Twin Cities Area will ordain Risley Prakasim as Minister of Word and Sacrament and Knox Presbyterian Church of St. Paul will install Risley and Rev. Joo Kim as Co-Pastors on Sunday, June 3rd at 4:00 p.m. A reception with light supper featuring Indian and Indonesian dishes will follow the service.
Ordinations of pastors are events of the whole presbytery. You are welcome and encouraged to attend this event. Such times answers to much prayer and a cause for great celebration. Come share the joy!

Signup for Ubuntu!
Ubuntu is the occasional email that focuses on a mission taking place in the Presbytery.
For the last month or so, we have been sending it out to everyone on the EMerge mailing list as way of introducing this new resource. Call to Special Presbytery Meeting
The next Meeting of the Presbytery of the Twin Cities Area will be a special meeting on June 12, 2012 at Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Bloomington, MN starting at 6:30PM. The main purpose of the meeting is the resumption of the process to discuss, amend and vote on the proposed Gracious Separation Policy.

Spend Saturday Sharing About Sundae on Wednesday

Wanna help our new church plant, Chain of Lakes in Lino Lakes?
Would you come pass out leaflets on Saturday, June 2? Folks will gather at the Lino Lakes Senior Center at 9:30 a.m. The address is 1189 Main in Lino Lakes. (A map is on the Chain of Lakes web site- colpres.org). After we gather on June 2nd everyone will receive a short training. Folks will then go out in groups of two to pass out leaflets for about two hours to spread the word about Chain of Lake's new summer worship experience called "Sundaes on Wednesday." From 10,000 Lakes to the Desert: Luke Heikkila, a member of North Como Presbyterian in Roseville and a producer for TPT Public Television spent two weeks in April embedded with National Guard troops in Afghanistan. Lectionary Study at First Belle Plaine: First Presbyterian in Belle Plaine has started a weekly Lectionary study on Wednesday afternoons where they discuss the text for the upcoming Sunday. Writer Mitch Albom to Speak at House of Hope: The House of Hope Presbyterian in St. Paul, will host best-selling author Mitch Albom on June 10 at 2PM as part of their Sunday Series. The sportswriter for the Detroit Free Press will be available to sign books. How to Reach Millennials: Sarah Bigwood, Youth Director at Valley Community Presbyterian in Golden Valley has this advice to churches that want to reach reach young adults: "The key to being in relationship with Millennials is to be in relationship with Millennials." Meet the GA220 Commissioners: At the January 2012 Stated Meeting, the Presbytery approved a slate of 4 teaching elders, 4 ruling elders and one Young Adult Advisory Delegate to attend the 220th General Assembly in Pittsburgh June 30-July 7. Get to know the people representing the PTCA this summer.

The Committee on Preparation for Ministry (CPM) will host a one day "seeker" seminar for individuals exploring a sense of call to Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA) on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Valley Community Presbyterian Church in Golden Valley, MN.
