Greetings!

This is Craig Sutton with the first FishingNosara Fishing Report of the new season.

We've already had tons of trips with lots of quality anglers and the results have been outstanding.

The big Tico Sailfish have been biting along with tons of the school-size Yellow fellows and tasty Dorados.

Captain William and First Mate Alex on the Wanderer have had several multiple Sailfish releases on half days and have kept the fishbox full of fresh fish filets. They have several more trips for this month and as always William will keep the blue beauty on the bite.

Likewise Captain David and our newest mate Pipio have been filling his fishbox on the Super Panga Explorer. Pipio brings lots of experience and ability to the barroom brawler and we are pumped to have him as part of our family.

This new combination on the Explorer should really make for some happy clients.

Captain Eduardo had the Nice n' Tight out and once again lit it up for his anglers. This local legend has his 20' vessel looking good and ready to go for this season.

I will be here until the end of November along with some first class anglers and lets hope the great fishing continues. Once I return home we are off to St. Petersburg Power and Sailboat Show; to all our Southwest Florida friends be sure to stop by our booth.

We have several dates open after the first of December on some great boats and some super houses, if you are thinking about visiting us it could be outstanding. Don't miss out!

Tight Lines y Pura Vida!

Captain David and the super panga Explorer have proven themselves to be heavy hitters this season for FishingNosara. The unstoppable Captain David has mastered the maneuverable 26-foot Explorer and has her dialed in.

The perfect way to kick off the season was with General Manager Javier Hernandez and his friends joining Captain David on the Explorer for a harvest of the fertile reefs just outside of Garza Bay on November 3.

In just two hours they boated a handful of Yellowfin Tunas, Jack Crevalles, Cerro Mackerals, and Amberjacks. This showed that the fish were hungry and waiting for us.

November 4 was Teacher's day on the Explorer! Captain David and Javier welcomed two of the most respected English teachers in the area for a relaxing afternoon on the water.

Senior Marcos serves as a personal English tutor for the FishingNosara / Nosara Paradise Rentals staff and is also a much-sought after private tutor. This nice Amberjack he caught with Javier is tasty in any language!

Senora Betsy Chavarria Castillo teaches the youth of Nosara and also joined the boys for this fishing trip. She also hooked up a fine Amberjack and her devoted boyfriend also grabbed a nice Cierro Mackerel.

Excellent trip and fine catches on the Explorer for the teachers and our staff.

On November 5 our first clients of the season Tom Cavin and his posse from Jacksonville, FL had fantastic day on the Super Panga Explorer. They started with two white tunas and then wanted to see what was lurking on the bottom. Guest what?

Nice 60lbs. Rooster fish. Of course this fish was safely released a few minutes later.

Great work by Mr. Cavin who won this fishing trip in a raffle at the Ancient City Kingfish Tournament last year in St. Augustine (see below).

After a week serving as the spotter mate on the Wanderer, Captain David was back on the barroom brawler on November 15. FishingNosara Hall of Fame alums Chuck Darner, Bill Wilderotter, Ronnie Dorsett and Jerry Newman were back in Nosara with aspirations of more legendary fishing.

They joined Captain David on the Explorer for a great half-day of action along with newly-minted FishingNosara team member Pipio.

Our newest mate has a lifetime of experience on these waters, is an excellent boatman, and to quote US Representative Craig Sutton, "has the best eyes I have ever seen!"

There have been so many great performances from Jacksonville, FL fishermen down here in Costa Rica that the fish let out a groan when they see anglers wearing the logos of the Jacksonville Offshore Sportfishing Club and Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament...the fish know that it's about to be a long day.

Bill Wilderotter released a nice Sailfish and just missed on another one. For the dinner table Chuck Darner boated a big green 40lbs. Dorado; excellent catch considering that the boys were just at the beginning of their week in Costa Rica...no need to hit the fish market!

On November 19 Chuck Darner and Bill Wilderotter finished their week of excellent fishing with Captain David and Mate Pipio on the Explorer and they dialed up a fish feast for the ages.

David kept the barroom brawler on the fish while Pipio broke in the new forward casting platform...the result was a cornucopia of marine eatin'.

They started at 9am. The first fish was a 35 lbs. Dorado, then they backed that up with a 25 lbs. Cubera Snapper, a 25 lbs. Amberjack, and a nice White Tuna.

The Jacksonville anglers finished off their trip by adding a Macarela, two Jack Crevalles, and four beefy Bonitas. Excellent end to an amazing week in Nosara...these guys are on top!

Captain David is off to a fast start and we expect even more great catches from the unstoppable close-quarters fish-fightin' weapon the Explorer

Captain William on the Wanderer once again set the pace for all of Garza Bay. Along with First Mate Alex, the blue beauty fished more trips and caught more fish than any other boat in the bay. She is primed to once again terrorize marine life in these waters in 2012.

On November 5 Adam and Jennifer Mott booked the Wanderer for a hunting trip out to the blue water. The big blue beauty fared well on her first fishing trip of the new season, scoring on a beautiful 30lbs. Dorado for the dinner table.

The afternoon brought smoking billfish action with a pair of Sailfish releases for the husband and wife angling team. Great releases by First Mate Alex ensuring the safe survival of the Sailfish.

This was the first of several trips for Adam and Jennifer on FishingNosara's flagship.

After a great first trip the Motts they really flexed their angling muscles on the local billfish population on November 8.

Captain William didn't have to take the Wanderer very far to find the clean blue water and the Sailfish with hungry like wolves when First Mate Alex and Captain David (on loan from the Explorer) put out the spread.

The first bill came shopping right down the exhaust alley and Mrs. Mott was all over this fish. With Captain William assisting on the stand-up fight, Jennifer released the first Sailfish of the day.

The Sailfish were thick as thieves and Adam Mott was ready to lay down the law. The next monster came barrel-rolling through the spread but was no match for Mr. Mott on the reel.

Adam and Jennifer weren't stopping at two releases this time; they stayed on the fish and had two additional Sailfish releases.

This brought their scorecard for the week up to six successful Sailfish releases. Great work from the Bradenton, FL based husband and wife fishing team!

On November 11 clients Chuck Powell and Chris Landis woke up early and went to explore the Guiones area on a super nice 4 passenger safari cart, then started to fish at 12pm. The first fish came up at 2:30pm and it was a nice sailfish.

About 30 minutes later another Sailfish was on the hook and at the end of the day had another one.

Of course all three Sailfish were put back in the water alive and well.

The next day Chuck Powell and Chris Landis were back in action on the Wanderer and this time chose to stay inshore and battle the shallow water demons around Garza Bay.

Captain William set the blue beauty to a slow drift while the boys let loose with Williamson Jet Poppers via topwater casting. 'El Popper' did the trick and the group had plenty of action early and often.

By the end of the trip they had four nice Jack Crevelles and six beefy Bonitas. Great inshore assault by the Wanderer.

Unwilling to give the fish any mercy, Chris Landis and Chuck Powell booked and additional day on the Wanderer on November 13 and turned in a performance that tops both of their previous days.

Once again they had two Sailfish come up about 9am, then more in the afternoon. These anglers really had the Sailfish figured out as they added two more excellent releases to their scorecard.

Captain William found a school of dolphins and Chris started whacking them on a top water casted 'El Popper'. Once the bite cooled off the boys deployed the trusty cedar plug to finish off the school of Yellowfin Tuna.

By the end of the day they had boated 15 Yella Fellas. Excellent haul by Chuck Powell, Chris Landis, and the mighty Wanderer.

Chuck Powell and Chris Landis were back on the Wanderer for their final day of fishing on November 15. Captain William put the boys on a school of spinning dolphins and everyone knows that when dolphins are feeding the billfish are not far behind.

This excellent Sailfish was released by Chuck and was the highlight of the day. There was other action but no solid hook-ups; still this keeps our sailfish-a-day streak alive and we are looking forward to even more billfish in the near future.

Another safe release by First Mate Alex! Great work all-around by mates, anglers and Captain William.

High rollers Chuck Darner and Bill Wilderotter followed their excellent day on the Explorer with a trip with Captain William on the Wanderer on November 16.

The Sails were scarce today due to inshore rains, so Captain William adjusted his spread for meat fish and sure enough the boys piled the cooler high with fresh Mahi Mahi (Dorado).

November 17 was an amazing day for Chuck Darner and his posse on the Wanderer! With several Sailfish release under their belts already, these Jacksonville anglers set their sights on another beautiful billfish release.

It was Chuck's turn to do billfish battle this time and his prey put on quite a show for the crews' cameras. What a fighter!

First Mate Alex kept the fish close and the fight was over in less than 20 minutes. With Chuck assisting the Wanderer released this beautiful monster unharmed and unstressed.

For a victory lap Bill Wilderotter put yet another tasty green Dorado into the fishbox. Excellent results from the Jacksonville anglers and the Wanderer.

Most recently Craig and Paula were joined by our good friends Charly and Silvia on the Wanderer for a great day of Yellowfin tuna harvesting on November 20.

Regular readers of this report remember that Charly and Silvia were on the big blue beauty exactly one year ago for the most productive day of Yellowfin tuna fishing in recent memory; Jog your memory by Watching the video or reading the post.

So here we are 364 days later, and what do you think happened?

Whoa! Those are some big f*$%king tunas...it's amazing that they could hold these things up for the pictures let alone pull them out of the water. Great work by Craig, Paula, Charly and Silvia on some amazing angling!

Kinda eerie if you think about it...

Craig with the smallest of the 6 Tunas

This is why Alex lifts weights.

Great work all around by anglers, boat, Captain William, and the crew. The Wanderer is on top of her game and there is no doubt that there are more great catches in store for the big blue beauty.

More News from FishingNosara

The Explorer is back in the water and she is primed for another season of rocking and rolling on the Costa Rican blue water. This year she has a new trick up her sleeve: a beautiful new bow rail which converts the prow of the Super Panga into a full-fledged casting platform.

As if the Explorer wasn't scary enough for the reef dwellers, now Captain David has a new arrow in the quiver.

You think Captain David was itching to get back in the water?

Check out what he built near the end of October:

C'mon, what Safari Cart is complete without a rod rack?

Excellent modification to one of the old Bluesmobiles...Captain David is ready to rock!

El Jefe has struck again! Javier Hernandez is the unquestioned master of shore fishing at the Nosara River mouth; basically this guy can catch a dinnertime Snook easier than you can order a Big Mac at the drive-thru. He caught this monster on November 7:

Remember that FishingNosara isn't just about offshore blue water behemoths...we offer a full range of options from kayaking expeditions to shore/beach fishing. You can use our top-grade tackle or bring your flyrod for a true test of angling skill.

On November 14 Javier did it to them all over again. With overcast skies in Nosara bringing the big snook to the river mouth, it should be no surprise that El Jefe was nearby with road and reel at the ready.

Looks like another full skillet at Javier's house. Proof again that there is great land based fishing here as well as big-time deep water sportfishing. Bring your light tackle and/or fly rods and join Javier at the river mouth!

In other action around Garza, client Jamie Sanacino fished on November 9 with Captain Eduardo for a half day in the afternoon on the Nice n' Tight. They had some great inshore action catching ten Amberjacks between 15lbs. and 40lbs. plus two Bonitas. They also had 2 Yella fellas on the hooks but they got away this time

Great work Jaime, Captain Eduardo and the Nice n' Tight.
