Captain William has the Wanderer rocking and rolling this season and the month of March was one for the record books. With First Mate Alex running the cockpit and the Captain William on the tiller, any fish that gets close to this boat does not stand a chance.
On February 21 our good friend Annie Robinson and her son booked the Wanderer for a half-day and had a great time on the big blue beauty. Check out this nice Yellowfin Tuna:

The moon shut down the bite for all the area boats in late February, but even then the Wanderer crew made sure our clients enjoy their trips. Here is a client submitted report from Brenton Young after a slow day of fishing.
"We had an awesome time on the boat. As a person who has fished most of my life, I understand slow days. We paid for a boat charter and there is no promise of fish. My group said it was one of the best days they have had in CR and thoroughly enjoyed the ride."

"William and Alex were awesome and made the trip even more enjoyable. Alex really knows what he is doing, and William took us through a huge pod of porpoise several times because he saw how happy it made the girls."
"I will be back and will definitely charter the Wanderer again."
The next day the Wanderer stayed inside and had some nice action. Using a combination of topwater casting and low-speed trolling Captain William delivered the 'Triple-Deuce" of tunas: 2 Yellowfin, 2 White, and 2 Black Tunas.

On February 26 Elliot and his fishing posse kicked off a great weekend of trip with on the Wanderer and caught a MASSIVE Cuberra Snapper. In the afternoon they went offshore and raised a few billfish.

The next day, Captain William welcomed these clients back to the Wanderer for a pleasant three-hour tour (sorry...it's the Gilligan's Island skipper hat that gets me).

Lines were popping the whole trip as they stayed inshore over the reefs. They got a wide variety of fish including Yellowfin Tuna, Black Tuna and this nice Amberjack.

Most importantly, everyone had a blast out on the water.
After their 50 tuna weekend, Elliot and the boys were fired up! After two days of taking a huge chunk out of the local Yellowfin Tuna population, the crew loaded up on the Wanderer for a move up the food chain to the big blue water billfish.

Once again, things went well for Elliot, John, Mike, and Brian as they released two awesome Sailfish.

Several fantastic trips for these guys. From boxing over 50 Yellowfins in two days to the Hall of Fame-worthy Cuberra Snapper and Sails, these guys really set the bar for fishing this month. Great work by Captains, crews, and anglers!

On March 3 client Chris Graves on the Wanderer hooked up a big sailfish but lost it after 40 seconds of jumping and tailwalking. He finished his day inshore and caught a pair of nice Yellowfin tunas.
March 5 brought one of our favorite clients Catherine Chase out on the Wanderer. Last year she worked over the Dorados, but nothing could prepare her for this magnificent day on the blue water.

Why bother explaining how Catherine and the boys pulled off the now-legendary Double Double Sailfish...just let the pictures do the talking:

All Four Fish Live Released
Please note that our crews have decades of combined experience handling these fish. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS PHOTOGRAPH!!! While exciting, the double billshot can be very hazardous to fish, boat, and humans alike. Unless you also have a lifetime of experience on the water, don't even think about it!
On March 15 the Wanderer returned to the offshore hunting ground looking for the bill collector. They were marking some outstanding bait and finally followed the porpoises to the big billfish bite. In the later part of the day Captain William and the boys released a magnificent Sailfish estimated at 90lbs. Great work by the Wanderer!
Most recently, the Wanderer released a big Sailfish and caught a dorado with returning client Vanessa Mazandi and Ricky Soloman released a 400+lbs. Blue Marlin. For pictures of the most recent catches, please visit blog.fishingnosara.com
