Greetings!

This is Craig Sutton of FishingNosara.com, and I am proud to say that the rainy season is over and the fish are fired up!!!

Most of our good friends know that November 1st is the start of our new season, and so far the fishing is great.

The first two boats in the water
were Captain Eduardo's Nice n' Tight and Captain William on the Wanderer. They are nailing the BIG Yellowfin and Cuberra.

Captain Eduardo on the Nice n' Tight started the season with newlyweds Miles and Vanessa and then a half day with Scott. Last night he had a great sunset cruise with client Axel Hassan. Everyone came home with big smiles and fresh fish fillets. Captain Eduardo is back and the fish are scared.

Captain William and the boys on the Wanderer have blistered the big Yellowfin Tuna, Grouper and Cuberras.

Their season is off to a rousing start with Juan Adriatico on October 31st, Nikki and Russ on November 2nd, and our good friend Eduardo Berrios on November 14th; all had outstanding results.

Most recently, the Wanderer welcomed Bruce Sabine, John Harbord, and Joe Ronloff from Tampa, who certainly raised the level of fishing with some nice Cuberras and lots of MASSIVE Yellowfins. Stay tuned next month Bruce and the boys are fishing right now for their final day!

Captain Vibert and Vibert Jr. should have the Cabo back in the water next week and also the Amie Marie was looking great when I stopped by the marina in Punteranas where she is finishing her total refit. Amie Marie should be back in Garza making clients happy by December. The great Captain Vibert is one super captain and always reigns supreme.

The new Kayaks tours have been a huge sucess with Eduardo Berrios scoring some nice snook. Yesterday, Hal Breedlove and his group has a great afternoon on the Kayaks in Rio de Nosara. The Kayaks are a super way to stalk these big Costa Rican Snook. Check out next month's report for the first round of catches. For now, check out the new Kayaking Videos on FishingNosara TV

Captain David, Matty, Craig Jr., and I will be finishing the rigging on our new Super Panga Explorer. It's already starting to book up, and we are planning to have it in the water full-time next week.

Captain David on the Explorer will be a great addition to our inshore arsenal. Hopefully my crew will have time to get back on the big Yellowfin with Captain William on the Wanderer and  find one of these big November Marlin.

Trust me friends...things are just about perfect in Nosara right now. Great waves, great people and some great fishing. Hurry up and get your plans together and your dates booked because we are starting to get super busy.

Captain Eduardo and the legendary fish-catching Nice n' Tight are back in the water and the fish are already running for cover. It's a futile effort, because once again Captain Eduardo's clients are going home with full fish boxes and big smiles.

On Tuesday November 16th newlyweds Miles and Vanessa Anderson had a fantastic day on the Nice n' Tight with Captain Eduardo. In no time at all they yanked a nice 25lbs. Yellowfin Tuna off the inshore reefs.

Later, the line popped off as a massive Amberjack challenged Miles to a fight. With Captain Eduardo guiding the action, Miles Anderson prevailed and the happy couple celebrated their last day in Nosara with a Tuna filet lunch and an Amberjack dinner.

On behalf of the FishingNosara family, Congratulations and Good Luck to the Andersons.

On Thursday November 18th Naiomi and Scott Ferrette were aboard the Nice n' Tight  and they had an absoulute blast with Captain Eduardo. By the end of the trip they had caught a little bit of everything: a big Yellowfin Tuna, a nice Macarela, two feisty Black Tunas and a tasty 8lbs. Grouper. Captain Eduardo has built a reputation for packing the fishbox with diverse arrays of fish species.

Most recently, client Axel Hassan took a 2.5 hour sunset cruise on November 18th. In addition to seeing schools of dolphins and sea turtles, they also caught a 12lbs. White tuna and two large Yellowfin Tunas.

Captain Eduardo is booking up fast both from returning clients and from people who know his reputation as the best fisherman in Garza. Look for more great catches this season from Captain Eduardo and the Nice n' Tight.

Captian William and the crew of the Wanderer are back on the water and catching some serious fish. After one year of service, this 31' T-Craft has been freshly painted and armed with new tackle from Star Rods, Penn, Shimano and a whole array of Williamson Jet Poppers. You will not find a better-armed boat in all of Costa Rica.

On October 30th, the Wanderer was fresh off the hill and got her first action with our family from Nosara Paradise Rentals: General Manager Javier, his brothers Greivin and Eduardo, Marlon the painter, and friends Carolina and Emily. They had a great time and caught a nice
Amberjack and a few White Tuna. The staff of Nosara Paradise Rentals work year round to keep our clients smilling...it's great to see them smilling big as well!

The next day we welcomed our first client of the 2010 season. Client Juan Adriatico book the Wanderer on October 31 and got things off to a quick start. First he got to work on the inshore reefs with a few 12lbs. Yellowfin and White Tunas.

Then, the line screamed off when it was hit by a 50lbs. Amberjack.

Early in the afternoon Juan got the hook into this awesome 45lbs. Dorado.

Hopefully this is a sign that with El Nino gone the fish are starting to resume their normal feeding habits.

Mr. Adriatico wasn't done yet!

Captain William and the boys put Juan on two massive Cuberra Snappers to cap off Opening Day. Both weighed over 30lbs. with the big one nearing 50lbs. Great start to what will be a great season!

These clients are friends of Captain William and had a great trip: perfect conditions and a great Cuberra Snapper...and a really cool hat!

On November 1st Clients Nikki and Russ were onboard the Wanderer, though their real Costa Rica adventure was set to begin in a few days. More on that story below!

Sunday November 14 was a big day for the Wanderer. In the morning, Matty and client Eduardo Barrios caught two little White Tunas, then deep jigged for a nice 25lbs. White Tuna. Then Matty hooked up this massive 50lbs. Cabrilla (Broomtail Grouper).

The fight was short but violent, and about three minutes after this picture was taken, Matty took a 45 minute nap in the cabin.

After picking up Craig at Garza, they went 25 miles offshore seeking the blue water.

The after boating several 20-30lbs. Yellowfin Tunas, Eduardo hooked up a beautiful Striped Marlin.

He put on a show, but managed to cut the line off on a stray piece of driftwood less than 100 feet from the boat. Eduardo did everything right, but the Stripey got away.

All told they caught eight Yellowfins with the big one weighing 40lbs. Great trip!

John Harbord, Bruce Sabine, and Joe Ronnlof represent some of the best anglers in Clearwater, FL and on Monday November 15th they went on their first of four full days of fishing on the Wanderer. While these fellas are used to pulling Snook and Tarpon out of the north side of Tampa Bay, they were more than ready to tackle the big Costa Rican meat fish.

On their first day Bruce was the hot rod catching two magnificent Cuberra Snappers. As with Matty's Broomtail the day before, these fish were given to the villagers in Garza to make one heck of a sopa de pescado (fish soup).

The boys returned to the reef on Tuesday November 16th and had a field day on the Yellowfins, this time the mack daddy weighed in over 75lbs.

The bite was so thick that eventually they started catching and releasing. They hit on a great tactic for Yellowfins using the Williamson Jet Popper.

Take a look at our Fishing Tactics section of FishingNosara.com for more on this technique.
Day Three for John, Joe, and Bruce brought more Yellowfin to the Wanderer. These big Yellas are biting fiercely right now and should continue for the rest of the season.

Right now the boys have taken the Wanderer off shore and have their sights set on the big, bad, Black and Blue Marlins that patrol the blue waters this time of year. Hopefully, they will catch the fish of a lifetime to lead off the next report.

Until then, the Wanderer is booking very briskly right now, but we still have a few openings if you get your dates together soon. Don't Delay, Book Today!

Explorer Update

FishingNosara's new Super Panga Explorer is nearing completion. Captain David Barrantes was joined by Captian William for the maiden voyage last week. All major systems passed with flying colors and we expect to have the Explorer fully rigged for battle by late next week.

If you want a true test of angler skill, book Captain David and the Explorer today!

FishingNosara is pumped to offer Kayak Safari Tours as a new way to explore the Costa Rican wilderness. Also, these brand-new 13' Ocean Kayaks are the only way to get to the Mangrove Snappers and supersized Snook at the estuary between the Nosara River and the Pacific Ocean.

To test the new vessels we sent the best of the FishingNosara team to explore the river. On Thursday November 11th the fellas put the Kayaks through their paces and scouted many spots for future fishing expeditions.

Captain William made his way to the train bridge overpass to make sure the boys were staying out of trouble. Our crews certainly look out for each other.

Our first Kayak Safari client was Eduardo Barrios on Saturday November 13th. Accompanied by Guide Johnny, Mr. Barrios explored the river and the saw tons of wildlife. Also he did some more preliminary scouting for Snook.

Recently client Hal Breedlove and his group went out with Javier on Thursday November 18th for a 3 hour trip down the river. The saw incredible natural beauty and had an absolutely fantastic time.

Kayak Tours provide an economical way to fish and explore the wilderness of Costa Rica. Check out the Safari Tours section of FishingNosara.com for all the details.

Russ and Nikki's River Adventure
Adventure awaits around every corner in Costa Rica. Clients Russ and Nikki were on their way home from Nosara when they came upon a washed out bridge.

With no land access to the other side, Russ and Nikki were in danger of missing their outgoing flight in San Jose.

FishingNosara to the Rescue!

After loading their luggage across the river in a sling, it was Nikki and Russ' turn.

They made it safe to the other side and made it home without further incident.
Great work by Javier, Manuel and Comi in overcoming this obstacle.

Here is the email she sent to us:

"Thank you!! The trip was quite an adventure, looking back I wouldn't change a thing!  We will be planning a trip back to Nosara during the "non-rainy" season. The staff at Nosara Paradise Rentals are a.m.a.z.i.n.g.!! and we are looking forward to seeing everyone again."
