Captain Vibert has been providing the fishing trip of a lifetime to clients for over 25 years now, and his main boat the Cabo is currently setting the pace for all the boats in the area. With First Mate Vibert, Jr. at his side, the Master Captain had another fantastic month of fishing; lots of smiling clients and full fishboxes.

One of our favorite clients Ivan de Luca and his son Tomas were on the Cabo for several fun filled days, catching nearly one of every species in the ocean.
Unfortunately the biggest Marlin they had hooked up broke the leader right at the boat, but that's how it goes when fighting the mightiest fish in the sea. From the inshore reefs to offshore trolling, Captain Vibert knows how to get the job done.
Captain Vibert welcomed client Fredrick Porcase, his son and Chase Crews out for two action packed days. These clients had spent three days on the Wanderer chasing down billfish, yet chose the Master Captain for their assault on the reefs.
The Cabo did not disappoint! On June 14th the group caught twenty 15-20lbs. Yellowfin tunas and a pair of 12lbs. Yellowtail snappers in the morning. In the afternoon they caught two amazing 40lbs. Rooster fish and a 25lbs. Cuberra Snapper. Then on June 15th the party caught another 40lbs. Rooster fish, four 15lbs. Yellowfin Tunas, and two MASSIVE 50lbs. Amberjacks.

Captain Vibert is hitting his stride at the perfect time of year. The Cabo is running smooth, the fish are biting, and all of his clients are having great trips.

The 31' Wanderer has built quite a reputation in the six short month she's been in service as the dominant billfish hunter in the area. This month Captain William and mates Alex and David had some phenomenal billfish releases and also put clients on a wide variety of other fish.
One of my best friends Jacksonville angler Chetri Dimitroff was aboard the Wanderer on May 28th and caught his first ever Pacific Blue Marlin. The fight lasted seventeen minutes and ended with a safe live release. Chetri represents FishingNosara at fishing tournaments around Florida; last year he placed in the Kingbuster 400. This trip, Chetri and his posse had an awesome time and caught nice tattooed sunburns.

Jacksonville angler Dennis
Dahlquist also had a 300+lbs Marlin release on a late-May trip on the Wanderer; As usual Captain William was on top of his game.
I was joined by fellow Jacksonville angler Ray Carter and the lovely Georgia peach Paula Price for a great trip on the Wanderer on May 30th.
The weather was just about as perfect as could be imagined and the party had a fantastic array of catches. In total we caught a mean little 20lbs. Wahoo, a 30lbs. Amberjack, a 35lbs. Cuberra snapper and two 12lbs. Yellowfin tuna.

The highlight of the trip was a pair of 100+lbs. Sailfish releases. Paula
showed her skills on the reel as both fights were under ten minutes and both fish were released.

After the Hurricane blew through, Lian Thomas and her group had an action packed trip on June 6th. They boated nine 15-20lbs. Yellowfin Tuna and raised four Marlin.
Client Mike Kelley booked a pair of trips on the Wanderer on June 7th-8th and he enjoyed bending rods the whole time. He got a few nice Yellowfin Tuna and released a 100+lbs. Sailfish.
June 10th was a chance for the staff of Nosara Paradise Rentals to get out on the water and do a little 'research' for the company. General Manager Javier Hernandez, Concierge Manuel DeCampos, and Chief Groundskeeper Grevin Hernandez had great success on a three-hour sunset cruise. They caught seven 20lbs. Yellowfin tunas, a 15lbs. Ponpano, a 12lbs. Amberjack, and a 12lbs. Rainbow runner. Our staff is the best in the business and they can fish!

Jacksonville angler Frederick Porcase signed up for three days on the Wanderer from June 11th-13th and he had his mind firmly set on catching billfish. The crew was up to the challenge and for three days they chased the biggest, fastest, toughest fish in the ocean with excellent results. Sporting a razor-sharp meter-long spear and a top speed of 68mph, Pacific Marlins can only be safely caught with the right combination of boat, tackle, crew and angler working together seamlessly.

On the first day they live released this 300lbs. Marlin and lost a 350lbs. Blue Marlin very close from the boat. The lines were popping all day though with seven Yellowfin tunas and a 50lbs. Dorado on ice by days' end.

On June 12th Mr. Porcase and his party had another 300lbs. Marlin on the line but he bit off the leader and got away. No worries though, because the day was saved with a pair of great Sailfish releases and six 15lbs. Yellowfin tunas in the fishbox.
Their final day on the Wanderer was highlighted by the largest Sailfish release of the month (150+lbs.) and a big 40lbs. Amberjack.
Mr. Porcase would go on to have two fantastic days on the Cabo as well and it is safe to say that his five day fishing trek was the most fruitful in recent memory. Great work by the respective crews, Captains, and anglers!

On June 14th Bryan Russo and his party got on three very nice Yellowfin tunas, and were chowing down on fresh sushi when a 120lbs. Sailfish ripped through the spread. A ten minute fight ensued and the crew safely released the monster fish.

Another great angler and Jacksonville client
Buddy Cherry filled up his refrigerator on June 15th by catching four 15-25lbs.
Yellowfin tunas.
These reef dwellers are as tasty as they are fun to catch. They are feisty and will fight all the way to the boat. Fortunately the North Florida anglers get plenty of practice with a wide variety of species and Mr. Cherry and his group were all over these tasty Yellowfin tunas.

The Marlin and Sailfish bite is still going strong as of the posting of this fishing report.

Recently Renee Taylor and family booked the Wanderer on June 16th and had a magnificent day. They released a 250lbs. Striped Marlin and a 120lbs. Sailfish and a nice Yellowfin tuna to the mix...call this a perfect end to a great month of fishing.
This bite should hold well into September, but dates are filling up fast so don't delay, book today!

Renee Taylor and her family's incredible catches just goes to show that with proper tackle and a strong boat anybody can catch the fish of a lifetime with FishingNosara!
LATE REPORT: On June 17th Buddy Cherry followed up his four tuna day with an awesome pair of Sailfish releases. Look for pictures of this catch to lead off next month's FishingNosara Fishing Report!
