Greetings!

Craig Sutton here from FishingNosara.com with the May report. While our number of trips are down a little and the fishing was a tad slow on a few days it looks like the Marlin have finally showed up and they are hungry! Just yesterday Captain Eduardo on the Nice n' Tight released a nice 200+lbs. Blue marlin within 3 miles of the beach with Mike Colemen aboard.

Captain Eduardo had some super trips this month and with the inshore fishing picking up Eduardo is in his element. Captain Vibert and Vibert Jr. also had some good days with fishing and nature tours highlighted by the big day with the Rooster fish and lots of mackerel catches. Captain Vibert's years of knowledge are the key to keeping his clients happy. Lastly the Wanderer received some new paint and is back in the water catching fish and pleasing clients.

I just got into Nosara today and plan on fishing for Marlin with my good friends Chetrie Dimitroff and company, Richmond Phipps and Brooke Shields almost everyday until the 31st. Stay tuned for the photos. The Marlin fishing should be red hot from now 'til late August and we have lots of open dates. You don't want to miss the best time of year for the really big Marlin.

Captain Eduardo has been fishing like a madman in the last month, and he has the Nice n' Tight back on top of the leaderboard. He's had a great mix of sunset cruises, nature tours, and flat-out billfish hunting...the common thread? Lots and lots of smiling clients.

On April 19th Captain Eduardo welcomed Jacksonville client Van Evans and his girlfriend for the first of two days fishing. Van owns a great little seafood restaurant in Florida and is no stranger to some great looking fish. Their first sunset cruise netted them a nice macarella and a ponpano. A few days later they had another awesome sunset cruise catching a delightful white tuna and a beautiful amberjack.

That same morning clients Crissy, Rich, and Robert caught five nice white tunas in just a few hours fishing. Captain Eduardo knows how to stay on the fish, evidenced by two trips on the same day catching the same species fish. His experience on these waters give him the competitive edge.

The Nice n' Tight stole the spotlight on April 22nd when client William was on board and on the reel for a fantastic 110lbs Sailfish release. As always the crew and Captain Eduardo made it a short fight and the billfish was subdued with precision and released with no harm. Great work by angler, boat and crew!

April 23rd brought client Catherine Shaller on the Nice n' Tight for a half day of fishing and snorkeling. She caught two nice dorados over 15lbs and took in some super underwater vistas of our coral reefs.

Captain Eduardo stayed busy with another booking on April 26th with clients Bruce and Dwyane. The rods were bending all day long and the boys came home with a 12lbs. yellowfin tuna, a 15lbs dorado and several black tunas. Great action all day long is what the Nice n' Tight  is all about.

On April 27th Captain Eduardo got on a run of smacking all the Sailfish upside the head. First client Mark raised up three Sails and ended up catching and releasing a 110lbs. monster. Then on a  May 5th trip client Bill got a pair of the mighty Sailfish weighing about 80lbs.-110lbs. Bill was back on the Nice n' Tight  the next day with Marlina and they knocked out another 90lbs. Sailfish. They also got a pretty white tuna and five bonitas to fill the fishbox.

Clients Kevin and Elena released a 100lbs. Sailfish on May 9th to round out the week of Sailfish action on the Nice n' Tight.

Most recently the bite has turned inshore to the reefs, as client Darren can attest from his trip on May 11th.

He reeled in a 12lbs. Yellowfin tuna and three equally large black tunas on a half-day trip. On May 13th client Ernest took a three-hour sunset cruise and caught five 12lbs. Black tunas and saw these cool turtles. That sounds like a lot of fun for such a short cruise.

Looks like Captain Eduardo and the Nice n' Tight are all set for another Summer of putting pressure on the bigger boats in the area. If you want to fish on the best pound-for-pound battle wagon in the whole Pacific, you want the Nice n' Tight !

LAST MINUTE REPORT: On May 18th client Michael Colman and his wife caught a released a HUGE 200lbs.+ Blue Marlin. It was the first lifetime Marlin catch for both of them are they are super excited. Look for pictures of this catch to lead off next month's report.

The Wanderer took her first trip to the hill this month as Captain William and Mates Alex and David gave all the major systems a check-up.

After four months in the water, I am happy to report that the Wanderer is nearly as perfect as the day we launched her.
With a new coat of deck paint to keep things shiny the Wanderer was once again ready to catch some fish.

On April 26th clients Dwayne and Katrina fishing for a half-day on the reefs. They applied our FishingNosara Cuberra Tactic and caught a beautiful 30lbs. Cuberra snapper. They rounded out their day with four sweet whites tunas.

The next day client David Caywood went hunting for the big boys. Unfortunately they didn't get so big by being easily caught and despite raising up a Sail and a big-time Marlin they couldn't get 'em hooked up and to the boat.

Client Daniel Fero also had an action packed day on May 4th, albeit with limited results. He got some dinner in the form of a big Yellowfin tuna, but lost a pair a Cadillac-sized snappers on the bottom.

Likewise for client Bobby Leesman on May 10th, who fished a full day on came away with a 30lbs. Yellowfin tuna. He also has action throughout the day, but the fish were tough to catch.

Things have turned on for the Wanderer in the last week. On May 13th client Simon Lynch caught a 20lbs. Cuberra snapper on live bait during a sunset cruise. They also got a show from a pod of whales who came right alongside the boat for pictures.

Then on the 16th client Catherine Chase caught six 15-20lbs. Yellowfin tuna on a half-day. She had a blast and the crew was amazed at her fishing skills.

Captain William has a knack for strong fishing around the moon changes so look for the Wanderer to get poppin' really soon. I plan on doing some damage to the Marlins and Sails in short order, so stay tuned next month for some more great trips and great catches.

On May 14th Client Mark Padilla from Samarra booked Captain Vibert for a morning trip. The Captain pointed the Cabo towards the offshore reef and begin to tease the bigger fish up from the bottom. First Mate Vibert Jr. and client Mark were jigging the deep water off of the transom, waiting for the first nibble when BOOM!

A big, mean, hard-fightin' Rooster fish started peeling off line like it was cotton candy and dove straight down. The Captain and crew were patient and let the big fella tire out. They kept up about 3 knots to keep the fish honest and made the slow spiral overhead. The Rooster followed the water column up like a spiral staircase right into the Cabo.

Upon release, this Rooster felt to weigh about 45lbs.

Not one to rest on success, Captain Vibert then put Mark on a nice macarella and nine black tunas. Pretty good for a morning, huh?

Don't be fooled by the drawings...the Wanderer started out like this and it seems to be doing the job just fine.

She's scheduled for launch in November.

While the Wanderer was on the hill David, Alex, and Javier had an excellent morning catching Snook at the Nosara River Mouth. Check out the size of these beauties...
No limits down here, friends!
