Greetings!

Craig Sutton, US Representative for FishingNosara.com and here is April's report. Early March was unusually slow, but the fishing picked up around the 10th. and seemed to get better towards the full moon. We had very consistent action with the Sails and towards the end of the month a few Marlin arrived to light things up.

Captain Vibert had several good trips including a great nature tour. Captain Vibert and his first mate Vibert Jr. on the Cabo always manage to make their clients happy.

Captain Eduardo on the legendary Nice n' Tight with the new engine and the big girl the Sportsman also had some big numbers on the Sails and Tunas. Sometimes I think Captain Eduardo could find a Tuna in your bath tub. Eduardo's month was highlighted by a 14 Sails raised (4 released) day near the end of March.

Captain William and crew on the Wanderer had several big days on the Sails and Marlins highlighted by two double Sailfish releases and a 250lbs. Black marlin caught by myself, plus another Blue marlin caught by Jacksonville angler Gary Newman. In addition check out the big 70+lbs. Broomtail Grouper caught by Bill Wilderotter also from Jacksonville and their big Rooster. The Jacksonville group had a great time, showing their North Florida skills. Also my highlight came on March 30th fishing with my good friends Richmond Phipps and Leo the owner of the famous Nosara restrurant Rancho Tico and us catching and releasing their first Sails on the Wanderer.

The fishing for the Tuna and Marlin should continue to improve as the weather pattern changes and the water cools down. I will get back to Costa on May 18th to fish with my good friend Chetrie Dimidroff and his boys till the 31st and hoping the Marlin show up in full force to do battle. We have some of the really good dates in May still open if you are thinking of coming down.

Captain Eduardo is running in high gear these days. As always the Nice n' Tight is owning the local waters, but the knockout punch has come from his new behemoth Sportsman. No matter what kind of fish you're looking for Captain Eduardo has 'em locked down!

In late March Captain Eduardo took the Sailfish to school, raising fourteen of them and getting four all the way to the boat for the release. Watch out fish! Eduardo's in town.

April 7th brought a massive catch for client Tom who fished on board the Nice n' Tight and released a nice Sailfish in the 80lbs. range. Captain Eduardo then hunted the reefs for some Yellowfin tuna, and Tom was burying the hooks and bending rods to the tune of twenty-five fish! Captain Eduardo made certain that Tom had a great day!

Client Bob went fishing on the Nice n' Tight on April 9th and had a very respectable showing catching a 12lbs. Pompano, a tough little needlefish, and a nice Black tuna

Captain Eduardo brought out the big gun for a three day booking with client Stiff from April 10th to the 12th. The first day on the Sportsman was highlighted by a whopping 50lbs. Dorado. Things got even better the next day when they released a 100+lbs. Sailfish. On the final day then caught and released a 30lbs. Rooster fish.

With a man like Captain Eduardo at the helm, you can have these kind of multi-species days, or hammer on tuna all day long. Bottom line is this man catches fish!

Captain Vibert Blanche took the brunt of the slow early March, but he has been picking it up in April and has kept steady with some great nature tours. On March 26th Stephanie Kawalik took a great Nature Tour. They saw more than 20 nice dolphins with different colors. Also, they got some pictures of a baleen (that's Whale in Gringo) and a couple sea turtles.

On March 30th John Lehnert had a slow 1/2 day fishing in the afternoon for Sails, but did catch a feisty little Sancochoz. April 2nd was also too slow for  Rodrigo Navajas on a 1/2 day morning cruise.

Most recently client David Laudon had an incredible half-day trip. In a short time they had boated 10 triggerfish and a nice jack. Captain Vibert knows these inshore reef like none other
and is always ready to bring in this kind of solid action!

Captain William has the Wanderer locked in and has cemented her reputation as the king of the hill! Captain William had several awesome days fishing this month and the clients have been grinning from ear to ear!

On March 26th Manuel (Concierge Numero Uno at Nosara Paradise Rentals) and I released a Black marlin, one Sailfish and lost a nice dorado. The marlin was going absolutely crazy, moving from one teaser to the other one and spanking it with his bill. One of the teasers broke clean off of the line. I spent 42 minutes to release this fish, albeit with a few water breaks. This marked the beginning of some great billfish action on the Wanderer in March and April.
.

Most of the days I fished in March we were raising several Sails and releasing 2 to 4 on half days.

On March 22nd, Jim Bridges and his party really captured the flag this month with a ridiculous FIVE Sailfish released in a single day, including the infamous Double Bill Shot. Great work Captain William and mates Alex and David for coming up with the idea for the picture, and then having the guts to hold onto these powerful Sailfish.

Then on the morning of March 24th Client Joeseph two wahoo (50lbs. and 55lbs) plus a nice White tuna. It one of the best weeks yet for the Wanderer

On April 7th the Grove party was all over the Dorados and then finished their day off strong with a late-afternoon Black Marlin release. Even though the month started off slowly, great crews like the Wanderer's have the skills to keep clients on fish and fish on hooks. Now that the Marlin have showed up big time, there in no reason not to expect more awesome trips.

It was an honor to welcome two Nosara VIP's for a great day of fishing on March 30th. Richmond Phipps (legendary angler and patriarch of the Nosara community) and Leo (owner of Rancho Tico, one of the finest restaurants in the area) had a fantastic fun time and each caught their first Pacific Sailfish.

This group of clients had an awesome day working the topwater reefs, bringing in a nice Cuberra Snapper and the elusive Rooster Fish. Best of all they had a boatload of fun!

Most recently a gang of anglers from my native Jacksonville, FL were on the blue water and showed the world how we get down in Northeast Florida. Gary Newman got things rolling with this spectacular Striped Marlin:

Then was followed shortly after with another grand Rooster Fish for the Wanderer:

Then Bill Wilderotter nailed this MASSIVE Broomtail Grouper...70lbs. if its an ounce!

Things are dialed in on the Wanderer, but hurry up and reserve your dates as the calendar is filling up fast. The Marlin and Sails aren't going anywhere...

But you can't get them unless you book the Wanderer today. Pura Vida Amigos!

Dr. Freddie, Dr. Paul, and Daniel Phipps had a fantastic day fishing the Nosara River.
