Greetings!
Craig Sutton here with FishingNosara.com
and while January was slow by Costa Rican standards, the fishing was still shockingly good. I fished nine days and while we raised plenty of Sailfish, they were unwilling to strike. We adjusted our presentation and trolling speed yielding excellent results. By early February we had our hands full of Sailfish. I got to bill my first Pacific Sailfish (see right), and check out the report below for a massive 65+lbs. Cuberra Snapper I caught on the Wanderer on the 22nd.
Captain Eduardo has both of his battle wagons in the water now, pleasing his clients and filling the fishboxes. With the Nice n' Tight and Sportsman dialed in, Captain Eduardo is equipped to handle any size group of anglers.
Captain Vibert had the Cabo out this month and is enjoying the great bite and bending rods. The Cabo is always one of our top boats, and keep an eye our for the Aimee Marie's return shortly.
Captain Carlos has had great days including several multiple sailfish days and lots of big Dorados. Nosara Paradise Rentals Concierge Manuel joined him on the Reel Deel for a double-Sailfish Release in just a two and a half hours sunset cruise. (See Video)
Captain William on the Wanderer had several great trips highlighted by my huge Cuberra, a huge Sailfish for Scott D'Arrigo, and four Sailfish for 11 year-old Sam Rosa. He also had three great days with the The Outdoors Show catching lots of Sailfish and Dorado
This month we are excited to welcome Captain Dan Parker and his lovely wife Charlene in late-February for some serious Marlin fishing and are hoping to top last year's big catch. By the looks of the recent reports the bite is getting better and we are hoping for it to continue as we approach the full moon.
The high season is in full swing with lots of days booked for fishing, but we still have room so don't miss out on the action!
Tight lines and Pura Vida!

After months of hard work, Captain
Eduardo finally has both of his boats in the water and is satisfying clients. While the legendary Nice n' Tight is tearing up the inshore reefs, the new 32' Sportsman is dialed in and making life miserable for the big Sailfish.
On the 1st of February client Terry Schwartz booked the Nice n' Tight for a quick 3 hour trip. Captain Eduardo expertly put him right on a nice tuna bite, and in virtually no time at all Terry had boated two outstanding Yellowfin Tuna ranging from 10-12 lbs. These babies made for some delicious eating! For several years now the Nice n' Tight has been the gold standard for under-25' boats in Garza, and it appears that reputation is safely intact
The next day client Stephen Muller went hunting for offshore fare with Captain Eduardo on the big Sportsman. They quickly landed a small Dorado (25lbs.) and before they could get it on ice another line popped off with a larger Dorado (35lbs.) With the prospect of a full belly that evening, Mr. Muller went hunting for a big billfish. Captain Eduardo and the crew put him right on a 120lbs. Sailfish and Stephen succesfully captured and released the big beauty.
Most recently client Michael Weil booked a three hour sunset cruise on the Sportsman on February 12th. The bite was very active over the reef and Mr. Weil ended up boating four excellent 12lbs. Black Tunas.
Captain Eduardo is feeling great with both of his battle wagons on the water. No matter what you are looking for his boats can make it happen. Hurry up and book your trip with FishingNosara's fastest rising star: Captain Eduardo Carillo.

Captain Vibert continues to cement his reputation as a legendary angler with another month of great trips. Along with son/First Mate Vibert Jr., the master Captain has had tons of action on Dorado, Sailfish, and Cuberra Snapper on board the Cabo
On February 8, 2010 client Arlo Grammatica was on board the Cabo for a three-hour sunset cruise. They slow-trolled the reef and had lots of nice bites but unfortunately lost a huge Cuberra right at the boat. As usualy on sunset cruises they also saw lots of sunning sailfish and schools of active dolphins.
James Anderson was aboard the Cabo on February 13th for a three-hour sunset cruise. In just a short time he caught a meaty 12lbs. Black Tuna...not bad at all!
Captain Vibert should have the big Aimee Marie back in the water any day now; if you have a big party of anglers looking to fish with the most experienced Captain in the area, sign on with Captain Vibert today!

Captain William has taken FishingNosara's newest boat the Wanderer and tuned her up into the most productive boat in the fleet. Along with First Mate Alex and Spotter Mate David, Captain William is staying extremely busy and that's not good news for the local fish.
January 22 was a fantastic day on the Wanderer with Craig landing a 65+lbs. Cuberra Snapper, a 10lbs. Yellowfin Tuna, and two 10lbs. Black Tunas. In addition they managed to raise five Sailfish.
We gotten to the point where we can get these Cuberras pretty much whenever we want...we've perfected a tactic that you can adapt in your home waters. Check it out: FishingNosara.com Tactics
January 24, client John Dalton with one of his many Dorado catches. Great job John!
On January 25th, 26th, and 27th the Wanderer was honored to welcome Captain Kevin Faver, his wife Carrie, and the crew of The Outdoors Show for a few days of fishing and filming. Kevin and Carrie repeated last year's success by catching four Dorados and releasing seven Sailfish. Also Kevin released one of the nicest Rooster Fish of the year so far. These episodes should air soon, so keep an eye on this report for airtimes and channels.
January 18th Gina Carbone and her cousin with their respective Dorados
Longtime friend and client Scott D'Arrigo joined Craig Sutton and the crew of the Wanderer for a very memorable day of fishing on January 30th. With Craig in command of the cockpit and Scotty on the reel they pulled in this massive Sailfish...Craig brought the big fella into the boat himself, a first time for him with a Pacific Sailfish. We captured this fight on video; follow this link to check it out: Scott's Sailfish
On January 31 Senora Richmond Phipps (a Nosara legend for her wisdom, spirit, humor, and awesome fishing skills) celebrated her birthday on board the Wanderer and reeled in a very nice Dorado. Also, Javier was on the reel catching his first Pacific Sailfish. Pura Vida Richmond!
February 6th was a day for the staff of Nosara Paradise Rentals to have some fun out on the water. General Manager Javier Hernandez, transporter Comi, and NPR Concierge Numero Uno Manuel took a sunset cruise on the Wanderer and hauled in a whole mess of fish, included a baby Cuberra Snapper...they returned the little fella to the blue water, but even as a youth it fought like a tiger. It's great to see our wonderful staff have a great day out on the water!
On February 7 clients Pat Webber and Lori Hoffman were on board and had a fantastic day. The highlight of their haul was this awesome 45lbs. Cuberra, and they had a blast on just a two-and-a-half hour trip. Look at this haul, and in such a short time!
"What a great crew, we really enjoyed our fishing with these guys." -Gaylon Catalano, after a half-day fishing February 7th and catching this superior Cuberra Snapper.
