Greetings!

This is Craig Sutton with FishingNosara.com and Nosara Paradise Rentals, and welcome to the September report. I'm happy to report that the rainy season is still holding off and our captains have kept busy with lots of trips. We're finishing up our best year ever, and I am super-stoked about next year.

Captain Eduardo pulled the Sportsman out of the water for the season and is tweaking the last details on this new boat. Captain Carlos has a full refit planned for the Reel Deel including the addition of live tuna tubes. Look out Marlins! Captain Vibert also has big plans for the Cabo this off-season.

In addition we are expecting delivery of new tackle, rods, leaders, and hooks so we can continue to guarantee top-notch fishing for our clients.

I am also thrilled to announce David Barrantes as FishingNosara's newest team member. David is a local Costa Rican with a lifetime of experiance related to the local wildlife and terrain. He will be at the helm of our new 12-foot River Safari Boat targeting the giant snooks that swim in the exotic inland river bends.

Javier, Manual, and the rest of the Nosara Paradise Rentals crew went fishing for several days this month to commemorate this great season. I love these guys like my own family, and it's great to hear back from all the clients about the great work they do. Check out this letter I recieved just last week:

"We had an AMAZING time. The staff is top notch. Javier and Manual were more helpful than we ever could have imagined. I have traveled around Central America quite a bit, and I have to say I have never been so impressed with the quality of staff at Nosara Paradise Rentals. Thank you for everything." -Tricia W., Jax Beach

The future looks incredibly bright for us. The Wanderer will be in the water and ready for action on November 15th, and our new house Casa Bonita will be completed in mid-January. Our calendar is already filling up for next year so reserve your trip soon. With a small deposit we can guarantee
your choice of boat, captain, and fishing preference. Also, we are offering a reduced rate on Casa Bonita for the first year.

Finally I am personally offering discounts to all of our extended fishing family. Basically if you recieve this fishing report I'll give you 20% off any Safari Tour and 10% off our T-shirts, hats, cigars, bike rentals, snorkeling equipment, and Costa Del Mar Sunglasses. This is my way of thanking each and every one of you...without you none of this would be possible.

 Tight lines and Pura Vida!

Captain Carlos is finishing this season on a high note with several good trips and great catches.

On August 22nd Paul Steffen was on the Reel Deel for a full day of fishing and caught two 18lbs. yellowfin tunas, three 13lbs. blackfin tuna, and an 18lbs. rainbow runner.

Tamika Schilbe, one of our favorite yogis booked Captain Carlos for a nature tour of the surrounding waters. The boat was flanked by bottlenose dolphins on the trip out, and the giant sea turtles were gently bobbing alongside. They joined this whale for a little snorkeling before heading to shore.

On August 30th the staff of Nosara Paradise Rentals took an end-of-season trip with Captain Carlos at the helm. The crew did quite well catching a 25lbs. wahoo, six 12lbs. yellowfin tunas, and five 10lbs. rainbow runners.  They also caught a massive cubera snapper, estimate to weigh 70lbs. They rounded out their trip by boating a 10lbs. macarela and a half-dozen needle fish.

These guys and gals work tirelessly to make our slice of paradise accessable and accommodating
to all our guests, so it great to see them have a little fun and catch a lot of fish.

Captain Vibert has seen many seasons come and go, but this one has been one of the most memorable ever. With clients catching every species of fish from snappers and snooks to dorado and sailfish, plus all the snorkeling Nature Safari Tours it has been a full-throttle year indeed.

On September 6th client Joseph Roche caught two 13lbs. yellowfin tunas and two 15lbs. rainbow runners on a half-day aboard the Cabo.

On September 9th Captain Vibert welcomed clients Lauren Roth, Colter Merrick and Braun. They got some decents bites and a few good chances but unfortunatly did not catch anything substantial. They did see two different schools of dolphin and steady stream of turtles on their way to Ostinal.

Captain Vibert also participated in the year-end rally for the Nosara Paradise Rentals crew.
Manuel, Jaime, Kris, Dr. Juan Pablo Saborio, and David Barrantes were all on board with Captain Vibert.

By days' end they had pulled in a 23lbs. wahoo, a 12lbs. yellowfin tuna, two 10lbs. rainbow runners, and a 10lbs macarela. They claim to have lost a big snapper right at the boat, and some have suggested that it was the very same snapper that Captian Carlos' boat caught later that day.

All in all everyone had a great time and capped off the best season yet for the FishingNosara team.

Captain Eduardo didn't charter any trips for the month of September. He is busy shaking down his new boat Sportsman for winter stowage. These pictures are from late August and were not in the last report. Enjoy!

More Fishing!!!

Look at the size of that Snook!
That's our buddy Marino and the
12 pounder he caught off of the beach while leading a Safari Tour.

Proof that down here you don't even need a boat to get a great fish!

More Proof:

This is an account by Daniel Sheilds-Phipps, a resident of Nosara and our good friend:

"I sunk the Foldabote in the surf last week in
Garza Bay, slight miscalculation on the upcoming waves.......but we got her out, dried everything off and was back at it yesterday. We got five yellowfin off Coco, a bunch of barn door size jurel, and lost a magnificent snapper."

"I took the 12' Foldabote for five complete 360's before the leader gave out. A tiger shark closed in the Foldabote too, he seemed to be about SUV size and kept trying to eat everything we caught. No kidding some fish came in with no tails at all or large pieces of their flesh missing."
