Summary
This is Craig Sutton with FishingNosara.com and NosaraParadiseRentals.com and here is the March report. I arrived in Costa on March 14th to see if the Marlin are still chewing. I can't wait to get one those beasts up in the spread. The fishing has been outstanding with all of our clients scoring lots of action. Most are fishing for Marlin have had lots to get excited about, with multiple marlin raised in the last few weeks.
Captain Carlos has had some very big roosters to keep his clients happy, including a real big 70 pounder caught by Matt Peterson's father-in-law Harry Gonyer (see picture).
Captain Vibert had several really good catches of Grouper to fill his fish boxes and also his clients have enjoyed some great snorkeling trips.
Captain Eduardo scored one of the bigger Blue Marlin caught this year on February 22nd, estimated at a whopping 500lbs. We should have the video of Captains Eduardo's big blue Marlin up on YouTube when I return to Florida on the 24th.
Captain David's new boat Peztástico has arrived at our shops in Florida is being prepared for a shipping to Costa in May. We are hoping to have it ready for the start of the new season next November. Captain David is one of our best captains, so we can't wait to see him on the water full-time.
Also, we want to acknowledge all of our sponsored anglers who are currently gearing up for the tournament season. Pictured here is Captain Charlie of the boat Fished Out and one of his nicer catches from the 9th Annual El Cheapo Sheephead Tournament in Jacksonville, FL.
Finally, we are excited for April when we are welcoming The Outdoors Show with Kevin Faver to shoot his TV show and show his audience just how good the fishing is along this stretch of Costa.
We're super-busy down here as usual, but we always have time for you, so book your trip today!
Tight lines and Pura Vida! -Craig |
| Captain Vibert Blanche
So far this month, Captain Vibert has been the most active of the FishingNosara.com team. On February 14th Stephan Kulla enjoyed a nature tour with Captain Vibert where they saw several dolphins and turtles (please follow links for videos).
On February 17th Dan Wilkins caught: two black tunas, a nice 35lbs. cabrilla, and two tunny. The next day Bob Mcpherson took advantage of the crystal-clear water and sunny skies by exploring the local reefs. On February 20th Chris Suforryk also went snorkeling.
Don't forget that the Sportsmans Package upgrade can be added to any fishing trip, and includes the use of professional-quality snokeling equipment. The abundance of native marine wildlife nestled within this ancient coral reef creates an underwater experiance like none other.
On February 21st Captain Vibert got back to fishing with Jason Proctor, catching a pair of 15lbs. yellow tunas. Then Mark Gombert caught a 10lbs. jack and got hooks into two 120lbs. sailfish on a sunset cruise. Those fish were lost, but the day provided vital experience; the following day Mr. Gombert and his party finally boated a 130lbs. sailfish and a massive dorado. Over the two days Captain Vibert had the marlins and sail jumping all over the water. Check out these pictures:

A February 25th sunset cruise was very exciting for Charlie Belaire who caught a 12lbs. yellow tuna, five 12lbs. black tunas, and three good-sized macarela tunas in just three hours.
Captain Vibert has continued these strong showings into the month of March. On the 6th, Jason Peterson caught a 15lbs. jack and three 10lbs. black tunas. Ron Gilmare had an interesting day with Captain Vibert on March 10th, reeling in five hard-fighting barracudas.
