GATOR NEWS & UPDATES
*** GATEWAY ANNUAL FUND UPDATE ***

If you haven't already done so, don't forget to donate generously to our Annual Fund.

It is one of the most important things we, as parents, can do for our children and our school.

We are within striking distance of $100,000!  While we still have a ways to go to reach our target of $150,000, it is a milestone of sorts.  Thanks to all those who have already generously donated, and to all those who plan to do so in the next quarter!  For all you others, keep reading...

 Annual Fund-O-Meter

Gateway is a Legacy of Love and a gift we give to our children. Last year
82% of Gateway parents made a contribution to support the Annual Fund.

Let's make our participation 100% this year!

All amounts welcome and pledges are happily accepted!  There are many ways to give, electronic deposit, online donation, $5 a week...Just call us and we'll make it easy.

Please support our School and give as generously as you can, whatever you can to help
support our unique programs.

To those of you who have already contributed, many, many thanks.

***FAMILY CONFERENCE NIGHT***

TUESDAY, APRIL 8th, 4-7PM

Families should have received their student's third quarter report cards (along with other important school information).  We hope you have reviewed this report card carefully with your child, as it provides valuable information about progress, strengths and areas for improvement.

Please join us for Family Conferences on Tuesday, April 8th, between 4pm and 7pm.  These meetings provide valuable opportunities for you, your child, and key teachers to meet and create action plans for success.  It is our expectation that students will attend and be full participants in these meetings as their input and buy-in is essential.

Family conferences are by appointment; if you would like to meet with one or two of your child's teachers, please call our main phone number by noon, April 8th: 415-749-3600.  Joanne Wells or Iris Smith will be happy to help you set up a time with one or two of your child's teachers.

Conferences are 15 minutes long.

If Tuesday night is not good for you, please don't hesitate to contact teachers directly and arrange another time for a meeting or phone conference.  Faculty e-mail addresses can be found on our web page: www.gatewayhigh.org

We are looking forward to seeing you!

PS. There will be no tutoring on Tuesday, after school as we need the classrooms for conferences.

*** SUMMER SCHOOL PACKETS ***

Summer school information - Corrected

Please note that Upward Bound is full.

CCSF no longer has the African American Scholarship program.  Therefore, the applications for CCSF, College for Teens are no longer useable.

If you want a College for Teens application, send your son or daughter to Ms. Grimes to get one.  You must complete it and turn it in at:  #88  4th street, on the second floor, in the College for Teens office.  The classes range from $250 to $300.00  Scholarships are available for low income students who received a D or F in the courses they want to retake.

The blue SFUSD applications are still useable.  The student must have failed the courses they are to retake, failed the CAHSEE and score Below Basic in math and English on the STAR tests.  If you are not sure about the grades and test scores, fill out the blue form anyway and Ms. Grimes will figure it for you.  Gateway will submit the application to SFUSD but notification will come from the school itself directly to you.

Mercy High applications are still useable.

Extended Deadline for all applications is April 11th.   Any application received after that date will not be guaranteed a spot in any summer program.

Thank You,

agrimes@gatewayhigh.org
