*** GATEWAY ANNUAL FUND  ***

If you haven’t already done so, don’t forget to donate generously to our Annual Fund.

It is one of the most important things we, as parents, can do for our children and our school.

Remember, your gift to the Annual Fund provides for:

• The Learning Center

• College Counseling

• Athletics

• Arts

• Project Week

• Small Class Sizes

• A dedicated and talented faculty

Gateway is a Legacy of Love and a gift we give to our children. Last year

82% of Gateway parents made a contribution to support the Annual Fund.

Let’s make it 100% this year!

Please support our School and give as generously as you can, whatever you can to help

support our unique programs.

All amounts welcome and pledges are happily accepted.

To those of you who have already contributed, many, many thanks.

For those of you who are ready to make a thoughtful gift today, there are easy ways :

1.       Log onto the website at www.gatewayhigh.org and push the “DONATE NOW” button

*** ATTENTION JUNIOR PARENTS !!! ***

2nd Simulated SAT coming in March

First of all, thanks to all the juniors and their parents for arriving on time for our

first Simulated SAT, even though it was a very rainy Saturday morning!

We especially thank the parents that helped proctor the exams.

We will be administering the second Simulated SAT on Saturday, March 8.

The exam will begin at 8am and should end between 12:30 and 1pm.

We are looking for 5-6 volunteers to help proctor exams.  This a great opportunity

for parents to get a better idea of the how the exam is run and what students are

facing when they take their SAT  exams.

If you are available and would like to participate, please let our College Counselor Joel Rangel

know by sending him an email: jrangel@gatewayhigh.org

He’s very excited and encouraged by the enthusiasm that the class of 2009 has brought

to the college counseling program, and hopes to see it flourish as the semester progresses.

*** WE’RE STILL DESPERATELY SEEKING TUTORS!!! ***

Support Gateway’s Tutor Program after school!

Math tutors/ coaches of any level are most welcome  to volunteer in the Learning Center

or the Math Lab., on any Monday through Thursday after school.

If anyone can tutor a subject during the school day, we can also match you up with a student during a Free block

THERE ARE NEVER ENOUGH ONE-ON-ONE TUTORS FOR OUR STRUGGLING STUDENTS.

We also need volunteers  to give out snacks to the students between 4 and 5pm, Monday through Thursday.

If someone could donate just one hour for one of those days in the week, our students would be most grateful!

Sometimes, our students cannot focus on their assignments because they are so hungry at that time of the day.

Please contact our Tutor Program Coordinator, Joanne Wells, if you can help in any way:

jwells@gatewayhigh.org  or phone: 415-749-3600 ext. 10
