GOT A COMMUNITY HEALTH IMPROVEMENT PLAN? Share Yours with NACCHO
To be considered eligible for the voluntary national accreditation program starting in 2011, LHDs will be required to submit a current community health improvement plan (CHIP) as part of the eligibility determination process (in addition to an agency strategic plan and community health assessment). NACCHO is collecting CHIPs and stories prior to the launch of the program, and we need your help in order to share examples with LHDs and to assist in accreditation preparation efforts. NACCHO will choose several CHIPs to post on the Accreditation & QI Web site, and will remove any identifying items at the request of the agency. If your agency's CHIP is chosen, the submitter will be entered into a raffle to win a copy of the Public Health Quality Improvement Handbook published by the Public Health Foundation and the American Society for Quality. If you would like to share your agency's CHIP and story with NACCHO and other LHDs, please e-mail a copy to Penney Berryman Davis at pdavis@naccho.org or call (202) 507-4213.

NACCHO QI TRAINING SURVEY
NACCHO offers LHDs a number of QI training opportunities through the Accreditation Preparation & QI Webcast series, face-to-face trainings, and demonstration sites projects. NACCHO has partnered with the North Carolina Institute for Public Health (NCIPH), through a grant funded by RWJF, to examine the effectiveness of QI trainings provided by NACCHO. A substantial portion of this project involves surveying LHD staff who were registered participants in one or more of these training sessions to identify strengths and areas for improvement in QI training strategies. If you or your LHD staff are chosen to participate in this survey, we look forward to your feedback in our efforts to provide relevant QI knowledge and skills to LHDs, and continue to advance QI in the field of public health.
