 SPRING ISSUE #15 - MAY 2012

Dear Friends:

On World Water Day March 22, we held our 3rd Annual Clean Water Gala at the St. Regis New York. The event was a tremendous success serving as our largest fund-raiser thus far, raising over $100,000 for our clean water projects in Liberia! We are extremely grateful to the support of our guests and the generosity of other community-spirited people and companies who contributed to the success of the evening.

The program was co- hosted by the spirited entertainment journalist Quddus and honored Lisa Lovatt-Smith, founder of OrphanAid Africa who transformed her life from Vogue editor, author and style expert to tireless advocate tackling the Ghanaian orphan crisis.

This year's Gala serves as the jumpstart to our County by County initiative to fund clean water and empowerment programs in Rivercess, one of the poorest and least developed counties in Liberia.

The night would not have been possible without the support of generous sponsors including Chevron, Voss Water, Uber, Proctor and Gamble, Voss Water, Uber, and Eaton Vance Investment Managers.

Special thanks to Lauren States, Joe Wolf, Muri Raifu, Kevin McGovern, Ed Yarngo, Donald Osmund, Evan & Kaela Mainsah, Oluchi & Luca Orlandi, the Segal Family, and Marie Douglas for their pledges to build 5 clean water Wells in Liberia. We raised $50,000 just from the Well auction hosted by Quddus!

We are also grateful to Aroza Arts for supplying the beautiful pieces for the Art Auction as well as the entire FACE African planning committee for their time and dedication.

Through partnerships and strategic implementation, from the community to district to County level, CbC will focus on achieving true, long-term water and sanitation solutions where everyone in Rivercess will have access, even the hardest to reach and most isolated areas. Look out for more information on CbC coming soon.
