SOAR works to ensure thoughtful development and redevelopment of Streeterville through the continual review of development proposals to improve and shape them.  Formalized planning and zoning principles underpin these efforts.

SOAR promotes safety and well-being in Streeterville by championing public safety initiatives, encouraging environmental awareness, and providing educational programming.
Construction Updates & Street Closures  
On January 27, 2012, Northwestern University will be installing mechanical equipment, using a crane, onto the roof of Searle, 320 East Superior.  Traffic will be shut down on Superior Street from Fairbanks to Lake Shore Drive from January 27, 2012 starting at 7:00 pm and re-opening Superior Street January 30, 2012 (Monday) at 3:00 am.

They're spicing up the winter months with a festive luncheon featuring live, hot jazz and a great meal shared with interesting people. Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer for Snow Days 2012, January 25th to 28th  

Navy Pier invites you to be a Volunteer Chicago Ambassador for Snow Days, Chicago's international snow sculpting competition! This year's event is in Gateway Park, the "front yard" of Navy Pier. Volunteer hosts are considered a friendly face the teams can call on when they have questions about getting to the grocery store, location of their dine-around dinner or getting a hot cup of coffee while they are outside working in the cold. Streeterville Artisan Market Organizing Committee

SOAR will once again host the very popular Streeterville Artisan Market in early November 2012.  If you are interested in volunteering to participate on the organizing committee or would like to work day-of, please email the committee at artisans@soarchicago.org.

There are many ways to become active and engaged in SOAR's efforts in Streeterville.  Volunteers can contribute through one-time efforts, work on special events or projects, assist in the office, or participate on an ongoing basis with SOAR's task forces and committees.  Streeterville residents 18 years or older are invited and encouraged to get involved.  For specific volunteer opportunities, please visit SOAR's website.
