Board Members and New Officers Begin SOAR's 36th Year

During the Annual Meeting on November 28th, Irene Newman was elected as a new member to the SOAR board. Irene joins re-elected and continuing members of the board as SOAR begins its 36th year working to keep Streeterville a

SOAR also has new leadership with the election of Bruce Corson as President, and Patty Frost as Vice-President. Completing the roster is Treasurer Irene Newman and Secretary Sally Park. Brian Hopkins remains actively involved as the Immediate Past President.

| Letters to Santa | | |
Last week, the U.S. Postal Service launched its 99th annual "Letters to Santa" program that for nearly a century has worked to fulfill holiday wishes of children and their families who write letters to Santa. The program involves charitable organizations and individual volunteers who answer letters addressed to Santa Claus at the North Pole. People who want to adopt letters can choose them at participating post offices starting today.
The Secret Santas must commit to returning with the gifts, preparing the packages for mailing and paying for proper postage by Dec. 23rd. Letter carriers will deliver the gifts to the families. Streeterville residents who want to be secret Santas can pick up letters at the Main Post Office at 433 W. Harrison, 2nd Floor.

Volunteers can contribute through one-time efforts, work on special events or projects, assist in the office, or participate on an ongoing basis with SOAR's task forces and committees.
