SOAR's 36th Annual Meeting, November 28

SOAR's 36th Annual Meeting will be held Monday, November 28th at the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile at 505 N. Michigan Avenue in the Seville Ballroom (Lobby Level). Registration will begin at 6:30 pm with a program starting at 7:00 pm. Toni Preckwinkle, Cook County Board President, will be the guest speaker followed by a presentation of the 2011 Beautification Awards and a short business meeting.

SOAR Holiday Party, December 6

Join us for SOAR's Annual Holiday Party at Quay Restaurant & Lounge 465 E. Illinois St. on Tuesday, December 6th from 5:30-7:30 pm. Sponsor PNC Bank at Grand & McClurg and the Quay, Streeterville's newest hotspot, are hosting SOAR members in the beautiful Atrium Room overlooking Chicago River's Ogden Slip. Plan to kick off the holiday season with SOAR. The party is free to attend and The Quay will be providing light hors d'oeuvres. Cash bar.
An invitation to the SOAR Annual Holiday Party is a member benefit and extended exclusively to SOAR members only. This event has filled to capacity in the past. Please RSVP as soon as possible!

| Community Meeting on Proposal for 410 E. Grand, November 14 | | |
Golub and Company, developer of the 410 E. Grand parcel is reworking the proposal to include a residential building along with a lower rise structure for medical offices and ground-level retail.
Early information on the proposal shows that the new intent is to develop the following:
- 488 rental units
- 9,000 square feet of commercial space
- 69,800 square feet of professional office space
- 294-car garage accessible from Ohio Street and Grand Avenue

The developer will be presenting the new proposal at a community meeting on Monday, November 14th at 6:00 pm at 541 N. Fairbanks Court in the 8th Floor Conference Room. RSVPs are not required to attend.

SOAR makes every effort to maximize resources. Membership dues, however, only provide a portion of the funds necessary for SOAR to carry out its full mission on behalf of the Streeterville neighborhood.

There are many ways to become active and engaged in SOAR's efforts in Streeterville. Volunteers can contribute through one-time efforts, work on special events or projects, assist in the office, or participate on an ongoing basis with SOAR's task forces and committees. Streeterville residents 18 years or older are invited and encouraged to get involved. For specific volunteer opportunities, please visit SOAR's website. |
