SOAR's Response to Recent Criminal Activity in Streeterville

Residents of Streeterville have long enjoyed a relatively safe neighborhood, and the recent strong-arm robberies should not be characterized in a sensationalized manner to suggest that it is now dangerous to walk the streets of our neighborhood, to shop on Michigan Avenue, or visit Navy Pier and nearby beaches. Carbon Nation Movie in the Park, June 22

**The start time of this event has moved to 8:30 pm**
Come see the locally produced movie, Carbon Nation, at Lake Shore Park on Wednesday, June 22. An interesting pre-movie program will begin at 8:30 pm with screening of the hour-and-a-half movie at about 9:00 pm.

SOAR is proud to partner with First American Bank in presenting Carbon Nation, a documentary movie about climate change solutions. Bypassing politics and finger pointing, this forward-thinking documentary zeroes in on enterprising individuals -- from a wind farmer to a solar-panel retrofitter -- who are devising business-minded ways to avert the looming climate crisis. The cross-country expedition yields encounters with Virgin Group CEO Richard Branson, Earth Day founder Denis Hayes and former CIA director James Woolsey, along with everyday pioneers in low-carbon living.

Carbon Nation
is narrated by Chicago's own Bill Kurtis and co-produced by Chicagoans Craig Sieben and Karen Wiegert. Craig is CEO of Sieben Energy Associates, a leader in the field  of energy management and Karen is Mayor Emanuel's newly appointed Director of Sustainability programs for the City of Chicago. At 8:30 pm before the movie, Craig and Karen will be present to share with the audience their experience in developing this ground-breaking documentary.

Please encourage your friends to share this experience with its new positive outlook on the climate change issue and proactive measures to combat climate change.
