2010 Annual Appeal
| | This holiday season, as you gather with family and friends, we hope that you take a moment to remember SOAR and include our Annual Fund on your year-end philanthropic checklist.
Every gift to the Annual Fund allows us to support our efforts in the Streeterville community by maintaining and expanding programs to build and celebrate community, champion public safety initiatives, connect building leadership, promote safety and well-being and partner with local businesses. This year, give a gift that supports SOAR efforts.
For more information on SOAR activities, please review our annual report, Look Back, which highlights many successes in the fiscal year from October 2009 through September 2010.
Online giving is available by visiting soarchicago.org or you can mail your donation to the address below. All mailed donations postmarked by December 31, will be credited towards the 2010 tax year.

| Safety Tip | | You're often told not to be a victim of crime. But you may wonder how to ensure that. While no one can guarantee your total safety, you can lessen the chance of being a victim by making it more difficult for a would-be thief or attacker.
On Public Transit: Be Prepared Have the exact fare ready before you leave home so that there is no need to open a purse or wallet. During late night or early morning stay near the agent on duty in subways and when possible sit on the aisle seat where you will have more mobility should trouble occur.
SOAR's Safety and Security Committee regularly attends and participates in CAPS meetings. If you are interested in attending, the next CAPS meeting is scheduled for January 6, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. 115 W. Chicago Ave (Access Living).
This safety tip was brought to you by SOAR's Safety and Security Committee and gathered from the Chicago Police Department's website If you have a safety tip you would like to share, please submit to safety@soarchicago.org |

| Volunteer Opportunities | | |
Get Involved!
There are many ways to become active and engaged in SOAR's efforts in Streeterville. Volunteers can contribute through one-time efforts, work on special events or projects, assist in the office, or participate on an ongoing basis with SOAR's task forces and committees. Streeterville residents 18 years or older are invited and encouraged to get involved. For specific volunteer opportunities, please visit SOAR's website.
Condo Coffee Volunteer
Condo Coffees take place in Streeterville condo buildings on Saturday mornings usually from 9:00-11:00 a.m. We can always use new faces to help us reach out to residents during the Coffee or to help with set-up and tear-down.
If you would like to help us host a Coffee in your building, let us know. All we need from you is a contact or an introduction to whomever it is that makes those decisions and we will do the rest. If you have questions about anything Condo Coffee related, email Sue Graff or call 312.280.2596.
For additional opportunities to make a difference in Streeterville, please volunteer!
