The brain begins to slow down as a natural part of aging. Understand how your brain processes information as you grow older. Learn natural ways to outsmart your brain with mind-strengthening exercises and games. Presented by CJE Senior Life, the speakers are Andrea Kaplan, R. N. and Barbara Milsk.

| Neighborhood Big Draw Comes to Streeterville | | |
The Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) Chicago and the Streeterville Organization of Active Residents (SOAR) together are participating in the Neighborhood Big Draw, a drawing celebration taking place in communities across the United States on Saturday, October 9th. Join us for a drawing-themed Creation Station at the MCA's Family Day at the corner of Mies van der Rohe & Pearson St. from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Support for Family Programs at the MCA is provided in part through the MCA Women's Board Family Education Initiative. |
| Join CAF for DOCOMOMO Tour 2010 | | |
The fourth Annual DOCOMOMO US Tour Day has expanded to include more than twenty modern architecture tours throughout the United States. The event will take place on Saturday, October 9th at 12:30 p.m. at the Chicago Architectural Foundation (CAF). Meet at the CAF Shop & Tour Center, 224 S. Michigan Ave.
One of the five tours offered in Chicago include a visit to Prentice Hospital, an endangered example of the innovative designs Bertrand Goldberg developed for hospitals and medical centers. Best known for his curving concrete structures, Goldberg was a native Chicagoan who "broke the box" and brought new ideas and philosophies to mid-century Modern design.

We will meet at the Lake Shore Park Field House to organize before beginning work. As always "many hands make light work" so please plan to join the garden crew. |

Get Involved!
There are many ways to become active and engaged in SOAR's efforts in Streeterville. Volunteers can contribute through one-time efforts, work on special events or projects, assist in the office, or participate on an ongoing basis with SOAR's task forces and committees.
