Testing & Assessment

Finding Great People Using Behavioural Based Interviews

You are only as good as your people.   Several good candidates have applied for your position.  How do you determine which ones have the potential to be "great" employees?

"The candidates I interview are so polished that it's difficult to decide on who is the best fit for our role."

In the job environment today candidates are very sophisticated and have often:

  • Sought the advice of professional resume writers
  • Consulted with career portals for advice on interviewing
  • Been guided and advised by a mentor or career advisor
  • Role played the most common interview scenarios

Obviously candidates want to give you the best impression they can.  As business owners, HR professionals or hiring managers, we are mandated with screening and interviewing candidates to ensure that the talent brought into the organization is going to deliver on business objectives.  The challenge is finding these candidates in a world where they are all doing their best to accentuate their positives, and underplay their possible limitations.  What we see in the interview is sometimes profoundly different to the person we 'experience' six months later.  In some cases, the 'fit' is so poor we have to ask them to leave.

RPO Spotlight!

SkillScope
(TM)

Allow applicants to qualify themselves for your position(s)!  Select candidates without reading another resume!

As applicants apply for your advertised position(s), determining which are truly qualified (based solely on their resume) can be a challenge.

A SkillScope objectively sorts all the applicants using position-specific questions created in consultation with your organization.  This online system enables you to view and rank their responses, determine their skill fit for the position, and short-list the applicants prior to scheduling face-to-face interviews.

Choose from a five or ten question format.

Allow the applicants to qualify themselves...do them the favour of allowing them to 'win' the position!

Go to www.SmartHire.ca (current site) or SkillScope  and register your company today to take advantage of these tools.
