Get in the Game!  Employers are competing for your talent.

You, too, can use a job site to not only market, but to leverage your talents.  Use a little effort and get big results!

Your talents includes your education, experience, expertise, and your current employment.

In 2008, a new design for the SmartHire website will be unveiled.  Use a little effort and get big results - partner with SmartHire.ca.

SmartHire seeks candidates with the following talents:

  • Experience: Five (5) years of experience in your field of expertise or related transferable experience.
  • Expertise: $50,000 annual income or more
  • Employed: Post your employment profile while you are employed.
  • Education: Certificate, Diploma, Degree, or more

Career Tip

Post your current profile (resume) while you are still employed.

As your career develops and you manage the growth of your talent, you choose to experience different roles and responsibilities in organizations.

Positioning and re-positioning your talent with new opportunities is call "talent management" - successful people have a program or process for this development.

Post your current profile before you are forced by circumstances to advertise your talent!

Many talented people put their career development on the 'back burner' until the discomfort, or the lack of challenge in their current position, becomes intolerable.  Don't wait, until you are out of a job and desperate to start your job search, to post / update your profile.

  1. It doesn't matter if there are positions applicable to your career path currently on-line - post your resume anyway.  Tap into opportunities in the hidden job market that only recruiters know about!  Some statistics cite that 90% of current career opportunities are unannounced or unadvertised.
  2. With a new career opportunity, you may be offered more money, benefits, or other perks that you are currently not receiving.
  3. Employers and recruiters 'mine' SmartHire for corporate and community fit as well as talent.  If your profile fits with their corporate and community culture, you may be offered a position that will expand the horizon of your current career path!

Take the step now to ensure your profile is current!

Success Story

Jerome (name changed) posted his profile in 2003.  While gainfully employed, his current job met some of his needs but not all of them.  He was contacted several times about key opportunities, but they did not fit with his talent management program - he knew what he wanted!

Throughout the years, Jerome had kept his profile updated and current.  In 2007, through his online profile, he was offered an opportunity that linked perfectly with his talent, in his targeted geographic location.

He accepted the position.
