Uses of Natural Stone for Landscaping
Natural Stone is an inexpensive and effective way to add life to any garden. Stone is the oldest, and most durable, maintenance-free construction material known and adds timeless beauty to any construction. Common uses of natural stone in landscaping include driveways, walkways, patios, steps, and custom furniture such as patio tables, benches and outdoor kitchens. It is also used to enhance other features in landscaping such as retaining walls, ponds, waterfalls and many other areas. Natural stone is also used to prevent soil erosion. By constructing surface runoff barriers with edging made of stones, it can help prevent soil erosion by minimizing runoff. If runoff is minimized, soil is less likely to be carried away by groundwater runoff. Marblex provides marble and granite remnant pieces and chips in all colors including earthy tones that can be used to enhance flooring areas for garden landscaping as shown above. We can create any pattern by using mixed sizes, shapes and colors. |

Building Green With Stone
Natural Stone Council Stone Industry Sustainability Report
In a recent article from the Natural Stone Council (NSC), "Building Green With Stone", the NSC wanted to prove the sustainability of natural stone. With the rapid growth of the green building movement, it is important to recognize the essential environmental advantages of using natural stone. Natural stone is found in nature, naturally. It is extremely durable and low in maintenance. Natural stone may also be reused in a multitude of applications, one being landscaping. These characteristics may allow stone to contribute to sustainable design projects and green building certifications. LEATHERED FINISH TUNISIAN LIMESTONE
Miele Thala Beige Grey Foussana
As with fashion, the hottest trends in stone design often originate in Italy. Tunisian limestones have been among the favorites in Italy and are now becoming the choice materials here in the US. This dense limestone has a stunningly contemporary look, but with all of the benefits of being a natural stone. Grey Foussana is characterized by dark pools of grey and an occasional white vein. As with all Tunisian limestone slabs, its technical properties of high density and low porosity allow it to be suitable for kitchen countertops. In addition, a leathered finish provides a more forgiving surface should any accidents occur. Leathered Thala Beige provides a wonderful soft creamy surface and even comes in a rich textured sandblasted finish. The Thala Beige can range from a consistent rich beige color with some quartz veining to a flowered variation, characterized by swirls of darker beige. Leathered Miele comes in rich honey colored slabs containing numerous fossils and a delightful rustic texture. Come visit Marblex's showroom to see and feel first hand the depth, texture and beauty of these limestones. Also available are matching mosaics and tiles for backsplash and flooring. | |
