A note from our President...
Mete's Picture
I would like to start out by personally wishing you a very Happy New Year and thank you for making our progress possible. During these trying times where budgets are tightening, competition is building and uncertainty has been growing, we all need to stay positive.

Marblex made its name back in 1987 when we started and grew our business during a recession and downturn. We thrived by staying positive and took initiative in the market place. We will continue to be a leader in our industry by focusing on innovation, unparalleled customer service and attention to detail.

My friends, stay positive, take action and focus on business as usual regardless of the economy. We are here to assist you in any way we can. Wishing you a year filled with good health, happiness and success!

Sincerely,

Mete' Yilmaz, A.I.A.

MARBLEX NEWS

Marblex supports the Environment!   Green Tree Logo

We support environmental conservation by employing recycling water reclamation systems, energy conservation devices to reduce water usage, eliminating our waste products, and offering products made from remnant and scrap materials. These products include materials used for backsplashes, vanities, fireplaces and a variety of other applications.

All remaining pieces are broken up, palletized and shipped out for sale thru local gardening centers for use as outdoor landscape elements or are made into a Marblex developed product called split face pieces to be used as a unique rustic backsplash accent or design. The end result of these daily practices means minimal slab waste dumped in our local landfill.

Most granite slabs that we import are now resinated overseas so the need for chemical maintenance, stain removal & sealer in the long term has been greatly reduced. We also offer Cambria quartz products made in the U.S., Caesar Stone, and Ice Stone (recycled glass) all using recycling methods for production. In addition, we Schedule Smart, all measurement & installation crews have planned work in the same vicinity each day reducing our overall gas usage & vehicle emissions.

To Seal or Not to Seal

MIA Statement of Position On Sealing Natural Stone Countertops

"Most granite countertops do not need to be sealed. Before 1995 there were very few quality penetrating sealers on the market and there were very few cases of staining. Both prior to and after the availability of penetrating sealers, no cases of food poisoning, radon, or food preparation issues associated with treated or untreated granites have been reported. If a homeowner cleans their countertops after each meal, they will rarely, if ever, have staining or cleanability issues with granite. This being said, many granite countertops receive additional benefit from being sealed. That benefit is the further reduction of moisture migration into an already moisture resistant surface."...To read more on this subject go to

STONE OF THE MONTH
Calacatta Caldia Marble
Calacatta Caldia

Calacatta Caldia marble has many functional uses to compliment its beauty.  This marble is used for vanity tops, fireplace surrounds, furniture tops, and most popular and desired by designers for kitchen tops and backsplashes.  We recommend honing the surface for a more practical usage in kitchens. The subtle gray/beige veining is indicative of a classic marble which exudes an understated elegance to one's home.  It reminds one of classical sculpture as well as ancient architectural elements.  Calacatta Caldia marble is one of Marblex's most renowned materials because of it's classic beauty.
