On the road...to success!
A focused trade mission to Argentina & Brazil has led to increased sales for Grain Millers Products, Inc., of Eden Prairie, MN, according to Liz Perez, Director of International Sales for the company's Dairy Division.
"In 2010, we met with a new buyer face-to-face which, to date, has resulted in more than $165,000 in new export sales to the region."
The trade mission was led by Food Export Midwest & received high marks from Perez.

US Ag Exports Reach Record Level!
The latest USDA forecast shows the 2011 US agricultural exports reached $137.4 billion or about $22 billion higher than the previous record set in 2008. It's also $28 billion more than 2010. (Makes you think more about getting into exporting, doesn't it?)
Ag exports help create a $42 billion dollar trade surplus for the US economy and help support over a million US jobs.
Do you know where MN ranks in ag exports? We're #6! Exports are crucial to our state's ag economy, contributing about one-third of MN's total agricultural sales.
And what about jobs? More than 40,000 MN jobs are directly or indirectly related to ag exports. |

Funding for Us = Opportunity for You!
MDA & the MN Trade Office have been awarded $450,000 from the US Small Business Administration to help small companies enter foreign markets.
The funding will help subsidize small companies that want to take advantage of international trade missions, trade shows and export development activities.
We're putting these federal $$$ to work by hosting two events this year on the Indian market for food & ag products. The first event is March 13-15, as written in a separate story above. We're also bringing up to 10 buyers from India to MN in July to help companies establish new contacts, distributor relationships & sales opportunities. |
