Hi, I'm Fireball, and I've only got one eye, but I sure want someone to adopt me just the same.

Misfit Scout
I'm Scout and I'm still in the holiday spirit, even though I don't have a family to call my own.  I've had a rare blood disorder all my life, but my friends at the sanctuary give me lots of love and attention.  There could be a special home for me one day..

Misfit Cassie
I'm Cassie!  My friends at the sanctuary love and play with me, but everyone says that I'm overly anxious and nervous.  My friends all agree that I need a special home where I'll get extra attention and exercise.

Misfit Itty Bitty
I'm Itty Bitty - one of 20 black cats at the sanctuary.  Despite our beautiful black coats, it's harder to adopt cats like us.  Some people just don't know what they're missing!

Other 'misfits' will probably live
out their lives with us.

Misfit Betsey

My name is Betsey, and even though I'm blind, I can still enjoy the simple pleasures of life at the sanctuary.

Misfit Tiki
Hi, I'm Tiki and though I may be too old and ill to be adopted, I'm spoiled rotten. I get treats and toys and loads of attention, and at Christmas, I get to dress up like an elf.  I'm very lucky to have been rescued from euthanasia at a shelter.  I had so much left to live for!

Misfit Fury
Hello, I'm Fury.   I'm healing up nicely from a badly cut tendon, but they say I will never be able to be ridden or stress my leg.   I'm lovingly called the "pasture ornament," which means I'll just get to look cute and hang around a lot, doing whatever I want.  Sounds like the good life to me

Misfit Alex
An Update on Some of Last Year's 'Misfit' Pets

You'll be happy to know that our three-legged dog 'misfit', Willie, found a loving home up north.  Spots, the puppy with the rare jaw disease, has had two surgeries sponsored by our crew, and he's now doing much better in our care.  Elderly Timmy has lived to celebrate another new year with us.  Nervous Marty imuch calmer now, since he's in foster care with an HSL staff member.  Alex (left) is fine  getting along on just three legs but is apparently 'not so fine' with wearing a festive collar.

Sweet Brock is sadly no longer with us, but we are glad he got to share
some happy days with us, after a lifetime of abuse.
