A Holiday Message from Johnna Harris

Animal Services Director

Thank you for your support this year and for all you do to help animals in need.

The homeless animals at our sanctuary have been very, very good this year and really deserve some

treats. Since you probably can't come meet them during this busy December, let me introduce you

to some of our guys, who are hanging up their stockings and waiting for Santa as the big day approaches.

If I'm honest a few of our animals have been a little bit naughty... like Jackson, who loves to get in the pond even in the coldest weather and greet our staff with big muddy paws; or Mo, whose favorite thing to do is to take down the Christmas wreath; or the Catahoula puppies, who don't share their toys very well.  All in all, though, all of our homeless guys deserve a little something special during this time of compassion and giving.

Monetary gifts are always urgently needed to help pay for vet bills and medical supplies, as well as food and care for our residents.  Make a tax deductible donation on line by clicking here or by sending donations to P.O. Box 740321, New Orleans, LA  70174.

Want to put something directly under our tree?  Take a look at our HOLIDAY WISH LIST and send a package directly to us!  Our crew gets up early to work on Christmas morning - just as they do every day of the year - and you can be assured that any gifts will be opened and appreciated right away by the cats, dogs, horses, birds, rabbits, ferrets, goats - and one blind cow.

Again, we thank you for your compassion and support.  On behalf of the Board, crew and volunteers of the Humane Society of Louisiana, we wish you a magical holiday season and a peaceful and compassionate 2011.

For the animals,
