On June 24th, HSL made a survey trip out of Grand Isle
to check on the situation with the wetlands and the
wildlife breeding areas in the barrier islands between
Louisiana and the open Gulf of Mexico.


SATURDAY  (Aug 7th)

SPEAKERS AND REPRESENTATIVES FROM:
  • The U.S. Coast Guard
  • The Louisiana Dept of Wildlife and Fisheries
  • The Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
  • British Petroleum
  • Louisiana wildlife experts

9:30am - 11:30am:  
Overview of the Ongoing Disaster Response for Wildlife with presentations from agency representatives and field workers.

Lunch break from 12 to 1 pm.  
A list of restaurants will be provided.

1pm - 3pm: 
Panel Discussion / Q & A with Agency Representatives & Attendees

3:15pm - 4:30pm: 
Strategy Building Session (Facilitated by Paul Berry, former CEO of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary)




SUNDAY (Aug 8th)


10:30 am:
Caravan will leave from Sheraton New Orleans
 Hotel for tour of impacted areas. 
Details to be forthcoming.
