We're pleased to announce that we have renamed our Tylertown shelter The Dixieland Animal Care and Evacuation Center! Big changes are in store at the former Camp Katrina, where we've operated since the hurricane. In the coming weeks, we'll tell you all about our exciting capital campaign to fund long overdue improvements and construction.

Our Dixieland Center relies SOLELY on private contributions, and recently, those have been in extremely short supply. There are NO big bank reserves and NO tax revenues to help us cover even the most basic, essential costs during the lean summer months. We must rely on caring people like you to pitch in--even when it's not the 'gift giving' season.

Food, veterinary care, medical supplies, utilities
and transport costs. They're simple, basic needs,
but they mean absolutely everything to the
animals who rely on us.
