HSL cared for little Sebastian after he was abandoned. Today, he's on his way to a loving family.The Humane Society of Louisiana is receiving an increasing number of cruelty complaints, and we urgently need your help. Can you please help us reach Louisiana's suffering animals during this economic downturn?
Funds are needed to provide the direct costs of reaching more animals in need--costs such as:
vet bills and medical supplies for animal abuse and neglect victims
food, animal care supplies and equipment
gas and transport costs to keep investigators on the road

Gangster (left) was severely neglected in Buras. Left to starve, he lost hundreds of pounds and suffered from a life threatening infection, when his lead became deeply embedded in his neck.
You'll be happy to know this poor horse is expected to make a full recovery after his recent surgery, and his owner will be charged with abuse.
It's difficult to see poor Gangster's picture and even sadder to note that his case was just one of dozens we investigated recently over the course of just a few days.
The
grassroots Humane Society of Louisiana is the only nonprofit animal
protection charity in the state, which is also a licensed detective
agency.
We're the statewide leader in the field of cruelty
investigation and prevention. With more than 20 years of experience in
the field, we're working hard to fight neglect and abuse in this
economic downturn, even as we are still working hard to recoup our
Katrina losses. We are:
putting more volunteer investigators in the field;
networking with law enforcement officers and humane agencies statewide to bring aid to starving, neglected and abandoned animals;
expanding our investigations into inhumane 'pounds' around the state;
forming chapters in rural areas of Louisiana without animal protection services. |
Now rested and recovered, Brock was a victim of serious, long term neglect.
Won't you help us raise at least $10.000.00 to fight cruelty this week? It's a modest goal by most fundraising standards, but HSL consistently proves we can do so much, with relatively little.
Your contributions would make such a difference! HSL operates on a shoestring budget, for an agency providing such a wide range of services to animals.
More than 100 volunteers around Louisiana help keep our lifesaving programs in operation. Caring veterinarians, attorneys, and investigators donate many services, as well, ensuring your contributions go even farther!
Louisiana's animals are relying on us to bring them the help they need. So, we're turning to you, their staunchest defenders, to help us reach them.
We'll update donors of our progress in a follow up email, along with pictures of animals you've helped us reach.
Please forward this email to friends and family to help us meet our goals!
