LAWYERS TO THE RESCUE
|
|
Bruce Shemrock, Trial Lawyer
"I was surprised to discover the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on June 23, 2011 that generic drug companies cannot be sued under state law over allegations that they failed to provide adequate label warnings about potential side effects. In the case they heard, the generic drug manufacturers argued that federal law barred these suits because the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the subject name brand drugs, and that federal law requires generics to have the same labels as the name brand." Not On My Watch
I often wish I had I been a lawyer during the African-American civil rights movement. I believe that somehow I could at least have tried to help outlaw racial discrimination.
As a lawyer and father I find it impossible to sit by and watch a civil rights violation during "my watch" without doing anything to stop it. One day, I predict my children or their children will ask: "Daddy, how could you let this happen? Weren't you a lawyer that helped people?"
As a Florida personal injury lawyer I have seen firsthand how the partners of the innocently injured are denied legal standing and recognition for their own rights. My state, Florida was embarrassingly the last state in the country to stop banning gay adoptions and for many years was the ONLY state with an official, statutory ban. I hope that history wont repeat itself when it comes to gay marriage. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO.

WRONG SITE SURGERIES
Few medical malpractice cases are more shocking than those of wrong-site surgery. This is such a fundamental and avoidable blunder that I am surprised that it occurs at all. Wrong-site surgeries are where doctors, hospitals or other health-care providers simply operate on the wrong site, perform the wrong procedure or perform a procedure on the wrong patient.

Hospital Patient Suicides
Our law firm is currently investigating a case involving the suicide of of recently-discharged hospital patient . We have found that the suicide death of a hospital patient or recently discharged patient can be a preventable and avoidable tragedy.
Some suggest that the increase in hospital inpatient suicides, especially among men, is due to shorter duration of admission, inadequate doses of medication and careless assessment of patients given permission to go off ward. CLICK HERE FOR MORE.
